ESPN Body Issue 2011: Ranking the Good, Bad and Over Exposed
The ESPN Body Issue always seems to find a way to make art out of naked sports stars, and the 2011 issue certainly did a great job of it with such stars as Hope Solo, Gretchen Bleiler and even New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes.
As a guy, I have no problem admitting that I would rather see the pictures of our women's sports beauties over my favorite ballers, but I cannot lie to you and say that I don't see and appreciate the art that ESPN is presenting.
A few of these pictures absolutely knock it out of the park as far as displaying the human body as an art, but, truth be told, there were a few ladies and gentleman that may have been a bit too exposed.
Finally, there were a couple pictures that were just downright bad.
Here's a ranking of the good, bad and over exposed from the 2011 ESPN Body Issue:
Good No. 3 Apolo Anton Ohno
1 of 10There is no doubt in my mind that Ohno is a great athlete, and his record proves so.
This guy is absolutely jacked, and the way they portrayed this picture really pays homage to his sport.
The worst part about this picture is that it really convicts me to get into the gym more often...

Good No. 2 Hope Solo
2 of 10Hope Solo has become the All-American beauty since her epic performances in the Women's World Cup this past summer
She's beautiful, smart and incredibly talented.
She's also ripped beyond belief as evidence in this picture.

Good No. 1 Gretchen Bleiler
3 of 10As far as i'm concerned there is absolutely nothing wrong with this picture or this body.
Bleiler is stunning.
If you think that snowboarders aren't athletes I believe you have just been proven wrong.

Bad No. 3. Julie Chu
4 of 10Everything about Chu in this picture just seems awkward.
Starting with her facial expression all the way down to the stance of her body.
This could have been done much better...

Bad No. 2 Suzy Hotrod
5 of 10If this was the ESPN Body Ink Issue than this picture would be incredible.
Other than that, though, I'm not a huge fan of it.
Perhaps I just don't trust a girl with the last name of Hotrod.

Bad No. 1 Helio Castroneves
6 of 10Come on, ESPN, this is just plain silly.
Not even to mention the fact that nobody in their right mind is going to want to use that tire-swing anymore.

Over Exposed No. 3 Kelly Kulick
7 of 10Once again, there is something completely awkward about this picture.
Perhaps it's the bowling ball, but it looks like Kulick is feeling very over exposed.

Over Exposed No. 2 Steven Jackson
8 of 10As a football fan, this is just way too much Steven Jackson for my liking.
I have nothing else...

Over Exposed No. 1 Jose Reyes
9 of 10So this is what happens when you can't get a new contract...
Put on some clothes and go hit free agency, man.
