Week 5 Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em: A.J. Green and 3 Must Start Rookie WRs

Michael DixonOct 5, 2011

Generally speaking, rookies aren't great fantasy options. You need your quarterback to trust you and in only four weeks, how can you possibly show that you are worthy of a lot of passes?

Well, you can have good games in four weeks. When you get an opportunity, take advantage of it. These receivers have done that. Because of that, they are great fantasy options for Week 5.

Green's had something of an every other week thing going on. If that keeps up, then Week 5 has potential to be a disappointment. Still, I am not buying that.

For one, I like the Bengals' offense against the Jaguars' defense. Two, Green is getting the ball thrown his way more. That's a great indicator that the inconsistency is going to stop soon.

Green is a viable threat in PPR leagues, but at better than 16 yards a reception, the big play potential is there. That's a great sign of a receiver who needs to be in your fantasy lineup, as long as he's in his team's lineups.

Julio Jones

Three out of Jones' four games have been quite solid. So, do you want to go against a 75 percent success rate?

If you do, then do it at your own risk. Like Green, Jones is a viable big play threat, but also a good PPR guy. That's a lethal combination for a rookie. Actually, it's a lethal combination for anyone.

In this game, the Packers are likely to be ahead early and often. That means that the Falcons will be forced to pass the ball a lot.

Even if I am wrong, they will get an early lead with a strong passing attack.

Any way you slice it, Jones is a great option.

Denarius Moore

The Texans' defense is improving, but it's still a vulnerable unit. Moore has had a great start to his NFL career and is an explosive option.

He's got big play potential both as a receiver and a back running a reverse. The potential for points is huge.

Also, like Jones, I see Moore's team playing this game largely from behind. On the road against Houston is a tall order.

While the Raiders know that they can't abandon the run game, they will have to pass. That means that Moore is going to get plenty of attention.
