College Football Schedule Week 5: Where to Watch Alabama, UF and More Top Games
College football just keeps getting better and better as the weeks go by. Week 5 should be the best week yet as it features several marquee matchups.
If you have anything planned you might want to put them off for later because you'll be pretty upset knowing you missed another awesome day of college football.
Here are the top five college football games of the weekend, with game information and game breakdowns.
Auburn Tigers vs South Carolina Gamecocks
1 of 5Time: 2:30 p.m. Saturday (CBS)
Where: Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, S.C.
Line: South Carolina by 10
Series: Auburn leads 8-1-1
Auburn comes into the game 3-1 and although they aren't the team they were a year ago, they are still dangerous and talented. South Carolina is a struggling 4-0 but they'll take it at this point.
The Auburn Tigers are going to have to stop the run if they want any chance of winning this game at all. It's going to be a difficult task facing Heisman candidate Marcus Latimore. Auburn can also increase their chances of winning if they can force some mistakes from quarterback Stephen Garcia.
This should we a great game.
Nebraska Cornhuskers vs Wisconsin Badgers
2 of 5Time: 8:00 p.m. (ABC)
Where: Camp Randall Stadium
Line: Wisconsin -10
Series: Nebraska leads the series 3-2
This is one of the biggest games the Big Ten has seen in a very long time and it's the Cornhuskers first Big Ten game ever. This game will come to whether Taylor Martinez can match the play of Russel Wilson and if the Cornhuskers defense can buckle down.
Regardless of who wins this game, there is a very good possibility that they will have a rematch later this season for the Big Ten title.
Texas A&M Aggies vs Arkansas Razorbacks
3 of 5Time: 12:00 p.m. (ESPN)
Where: Cowboys Stadium
Line: Arkansas +2.5
Series: Arkansas leads series 40-23-3
This is another big game that should feature a lot of offense. Arkansas is coming off of a disappointing performance against Alabama last week. While Texas A&M is coming off of a heart breaker against Oklahoma State.
This is a statement game for both the Razorbacks and the Aggies. Arkansas is out to prove they are for real and the game against the Crimson Tide was a fluke and Texas A&M is out to prove they can hang with the big boys of the SEC.
Clemson Tigers vs Virginia Tech Hokies
4 of 5Time: 6:00 p.m. ESPN2
Where: Lane Stadium
Line: Virginia Tech -7
Series: Clemson leads series 16-11-1
This is a show me game for Virginia Tech as this will be their first test since they have struggled against sub-par competition. Meanwhile the Clemson Tigers are the hottest team in the country coming off huge wins against Auburn and Florida State. Although this will be their first road game of the season.
This game will tell us a lot of about both teams. Are the Hokies for real and can the young Tigers handle the pressure of a big game on the road?
These questions will be answered soon.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs Florida Gators
5 of 5Time: 8:00 p.m. CBS
Where: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
Line: Florida +4
Series: Alabama leads 24-13
This is the game of the week and what makes it even better is both teams are very similar. Both have very fast and aggressive defenses. They both run the ball well and have struggled passing the ball.
Nick Saban will square off against his former assistant Will Muschamp who is in his first year as the Gators head coach. The key to this game will be Florida's running game. Alabama is giving up an average of 45 rushing yards a game. If Florida can get Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps going, they will have a great chance to pull off the minor upset.
Primetime, two SEC teams, this is the game of the week.
Get the popcorn ready.
