Steven Kampfer Injury: Boston Bruins Defenseman Suffers Knee Injury vs. Senators
Boston Bruins defenseman Steven Kampfer hurt his left knee during the team’s 2-1 preaseason loss to the Ottawa Senators tonight, and will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury on Friday, according to head coach Claude Julien.
"He suffered a knee injury, left knee," said Bruins head coach Claude Julien. "He's going to have an MRI [Friday]."
“That’s basically all we have right now,” said Julien.

Kampfer injured his right knee toward the end of last season, and wasn't able to help the Bruins in the early rounds of the playoffs.
Kampfer is a good young defenseman who skates and moves the puck well. He was likely going to see more ice time this season than last year, and could prove to be a valuable part of the Bruins physical defensive corps.
The injury was a sad ending to a solid overall performance against the Senators for Kampfer. “ I thought Kamp was having a really good night,” said Julien.
Losing a player in the preseason is tough to deal to injury for any amount of time is tough to swallow.
“It is always hard to see one of your guys go down and being hurt,” said Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara. “Obviously we don’t know how serious it is or not but hopefully he’s going to be ok…”
