Fantasy Football Week 4 Rankings: Andre Johnson and the Top 5 WRs

John RozumJun 7, 2018

This season it appears more than most in recent history, the elite WRs continue to dominate each and every week.

And with the pass defenses having trouble keeping up, it only makes the beasts lined up outside that much more valuable in fantasy football.

Therefore, here are the top five fantasy football WRs for Week 4.

5. Steve Johnson (vs. Cincinnati Bengals)

Although the Bengals have dropped two straight games, the strength of their team has been the defense.

They currently are ranked in the top ten in both rush and pass yards allowed, however, they have yet to face an offense as efficient as the Buffalo Bills.

Johnson has been unstoppable through three games, albeit Buffalo hasn't faced a defense like the Bengals, something obviously has to give.

Well, that's the advantage of Buffalo where they are excellent at rushing and passing, and no team that Cincy has faced was solid at both.

Johnson dominates again, but he starts off slow as Cincy needs to be bated by RB Fred Jackson in the ground game first.

4. Roddy White (vs. Seattle Seahawks)

Despite the fact the Seattle Seahawks have a defense that's better than advertised, they still had trouble slowing down Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald in Week 2.

This week, though, there's going to be much more coming at them, as the Atlanta Falcons are hungry for a road win.

QB Matt Ryan has some great weapons around him in TE Tony Gonzalez, rookie WR Julio Jones, and RB Michael Turner, however, WR Roddy White is the most dangerous of the heap.

It's going to be difficult completely isolating all of Atlanta's weapons, therefore, before Seattle figures it out, White will strike early on and throughout.

If the Philadelphia Eagles couldn't stop the Falcons offense (who's biggest strength is their pass defense), then the Seahawks are going to have trouble as well.

3. Andre Johnson (vs. Pittsburgh Steelers)

The biggest reason why the Indianapolis Colts had success against the Steelers was because they were very balanced and had a lot more confidence than Pittsburgh thought.

Well, the Houston Texans are coming off a tough road loss to the New Orleans Saints and are anxious to get back in the win column.

While the Steelers currently have the No. 1 ranked pass defense, it's due large in part to their rush defense suffering this season.

In addition, the past two weeks Pittsburgh has face cake teams in Seattle and Indy, both of which have a combined record of 1-5.

As for the Texans, they arguably have the NFL's best offense and a much improved defense; which only bodes well for WR Andre Johnson performing once again at a high level.

It's a big game for both teams, but the tide is shifting to the new kids on the block.

2. Larry Fitzgerald (vs. New York Giants)

Right now the Giants are 2-1, but have been skeptical defensively, as they don't rank any high than No. 15 (No. 15 rush and No. 20 pass).

The Cardinals, at the same token, haven't been overly impressive offensively, as they rank No. 16 and No. 18 rush/pass respectively.

However, Larry Fitzgerald has once again been their main attraction and will soar over the Giants secondary.

Also, Arizona's offense is actually healthy unlike Philadelphia's, so it will be interesting to see how New York can adjust in one week against players who are 100 percent.

Fitz does his work and once again is a top weekly fantasy WR.

1. Wes Welker (vs. Oakland Raiders)

Right now if you have an average QB on your fantasy team, but Wes Welker is also one of your WRs, chances are this man is carrying your team by himself.

After only three games, Welker has caught 31 passes for over 450 yards, and has scored four TDs.

He's clearly Tom Brady's favorite target (not wearing Buffalo Bills' jerseys) and matches up against the No. 28 ranked Oakland Raiders' pass defense in Week 4.

We know Brady is going to get back to normal and that only will increase Welker's numbers.

That being said, he's not going to hit record numbers against Oakland like he did Buffalo, however, it's just going to be another day at the office.

Which is better than every other WR at this point.
