Arsenal FC: Mikel Arteta Is Not Enough as the Creative Midfielder for Gunners
Mikel Arteta is a great player. With great vision, good technique, and excellent leadership, he knew exactly how to lead Everton.
But that was Everton.
Upon arriving at Arsenal, he must have found that the sense of expectation for the Gunners is set much higher. Smaller Premier clubs like Everton don't carry the same weight as Arsenal.

Due to the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri—who were the spark of Arsenal's attack —Arteta has huge shoes to fill. No doubt, he has done a decent job in his games so far sporting a red and white jersey, but that isn't going to be enough for the Gunners.
The squad is full of players who are showing promise, but against top Premier League opposition, the youngsters haven't been able to create much on offense.
At Everton the Spaniard was going through one of the worst periods of his life, and at Arsenal, he has looked quite good. However, his impact might not be enough to lift the dismal Gunners. Mikel Arteta and Robin van Persie alone aren't going to be able to provide the creation against strong opposition like Manchester United and Manchester City.
At his age of almost, most people aren't able to lead average teams, much less teams with such high expectations.
This means that in the January transfer window, Arsene Wenger must spend money on a creative midfielder. Even if the person's price exceeds what le Professeur is used to spending, he must do it for the welfare of the team.
Less likely options would be Kaka—whose career is on a serious downhill—or Wesley Sneijder who might be a little too expensive.
However, fans would love to see either French playmaker Yoann Gourcuff or Lille youngster Eden Hazard get transferred to the Emirates.
Maybe, just maybe Arsenal can salvage something from this season.
But it doesn't look like Arteta can single-handedly create plays.
