Week 4 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: 3 TEs That Deserve Spot on Your Roster

Joseph HealySep 27, 2011

The tight end position is an interesting one to watch over the course of an entire season. Fantasy teams generally carry only one tight end at a time, so there is less player movement there than at really any other position.

With that being the case, some overlooked tight ends remained unowned for much of the season. The following are three tight ends that might be overlooked in your league that are worth having on your roster.

Scott Chandler - Buffalo Bills

The secret is out when it comes to Scott Chandler, but being that's it's so difficult to wrap your head around the fact that the Bills are an offensive force to be reckoned with, there still might be some doubters.

Chandler is clearly a favorite target of Ryan Fitzpatrick's in the red zone. At 6'7", Chandler has the perfect size for going up and getting a tough pass.

Chandler isn't an Antonio Gates or Jason Witten-type of tight end that will pile up yardage along with those touchdowns, but the touchdowns of which I speak should be plentiful.

Evan Moore - Cleveland Browns

Before the season, I was a huge fan of Browns tight end Benjamin Watson, but it has been Moore, not Watson, that has established an early rhythm with Colt McCoy.

Like Chandler, Moore won't pile up huge yardage, but he is a big-time target in the red zone. Moore had a touchdown catch in each of the first two games of the season and at 6'6" and 250 pounds, Moore will continue to be one of McCoy's favorites down at the goal line.

With the relative dearth of receiving talent on the Browns roster, any tight end in that offense is a good play. McCoy is not the type of quarterback that's going to air it out down field a lot and he doesn't have the receivers to do that anyway.

Ed Dickson - Baltimore Ravens

Remember what a big weapon Todd Heap used to be in the Ravens' offense for all those years? Dickson might not be quite that good, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he got pretty close to that level.

In three games this season, Dickson has 12 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown. Best of all, his performance has been consistent. His stats aren't just based on one big game. He has been a part of their offense in every game.

If Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith continues to play as well as he did in Week 3, Dickson might not be as good as he would otherwise be, but he will remain a good fantasy play.
