Malcom Floyd Injury: Should Fantasy Owners Start or Sit Chargers WR?
With star tight end Antonio Gates not expected to play when the San Diego Chargers host the Kansas City Chiefs today, wide receiver Malcom Floyd would seem to be an enticing fantasy play given the extra targets the sixth-year wideout should receive, but there is ample cause for concern that Floyd is a shaky fantasy play at best.
Floyd did not practice at all this week due to a groin injury and, in all honesty, had Gates been able to go today, it may well have been Floyd taking the week off. Groin injuries are notoriously tricky and easily re-aggravated, so there's a very real possibility that Floyd's day could end early, especially if the Chargers build a big lead.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
That big lead may be easily achieved, as San Diego squares off against a Kansas City Chiefs team that has been blown out twice and is in absolute free-fall mode after losing three starters for the season with torn ACLs in running back Jammal Charles, tight end Tone Moeaki and strong safety Eric Berry.
Expect the Chargers to feature plenty of running backs. Ryan Matthews and Mike Tolbert, with a heaping helping of wide receiver Vincent Jackson mixed in, will stake themselves to a significant lead and then pound the ball at a soft Kansas City defense in the second half.
For fantasy football owners that are fresh out of options at the position, Floyd may make for a serviceable desperation play, but owners trying to get cute by inserting Floyd as a sneaky matchup play may find they've over-thought things when Malcom Floyd has an invisible day stat-wise.
