UFC 135 Fight Card: 5 Fights That Will End in a Knockout
With UFC 135 right around the corner, fans across the globe are beginning to count down the hours for what could end up being one of the best fight cards of the year.
UFC 135 will take place in Denver, Colo. in front of a sold-out Pepsi Center on Sept. 24.
The entire card consists of five main card bouts and five prelim fights.
The main card features UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who will defend his title against former UFC champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
What makes this card even more exciting is the high possibility of knockouts that could take place throughout the evening.
The following slides display five fights that will end in a knockout at UFC 135.
Let's take a look.
Tony Ferguson vs. Aaron Riley
1 of 5In one of the more underrated bouts of the evening, Tony Ferguson will take on Aaron Riley in a Lightweight bout.
Both Ferguson and Riley have demonstrated in the past they have the capability to knock their opponents out.
Ferguson will come out of the gate and look to keep the fight on his feet. Riley, on the other hand, won't want to stand with the knockout artist and will attempt to submit Ferguson.
To Ferguson's advantage, Riley's been knocked out six times in his career. If he doesn't prove he can defend Ferguson's strikes, it may be a seventh.
Nick Ring vs. Tim Boetsch
2 of 5Nick Ring and Tim Boetsch will square off at UFC 135 in what could end up being one of the best fights of the evening in Denver.
Ring, a former boxer, is skilled in all aspects of mixed martial arts and will look to remain unbeaten when he takes on Boetsch.
Of Boetsch's 13 victories, nearly half have come by way of knockout.
When action begins, both fighters will come out looking to swing away and make their case as a legitimate Middleweight contender.
Don't be surprised if this bout turns into a ground-and-pound fight that results in a knockout.
Travis Browne vs. Rob Broughton
3 of 5Travis Browne and Rob Broughton will square off at UFC 135 in an exciting heavyweight fight.
If history repeats itself, this fight will surely not go the distance.
Both Browne and Broughton are knockout artists, and of their combined 26 victories, 16 have ended by way of knockout.
This fight screams knockout, as both heavyweight sluggers will come out looking to do just that: slug away.
Ben Rothwell vs. Mark Hunt
4 of 5In another Heavyweight bout, Ben Rothwell will take on Mark Hunt at UFC 135.
Both Rothwell and Hunt have been known to end their fights early and often, as either fighter hardly ever goes the distance.
What makes this fight a sure knockout is the fact that neither Rothwell nor Hunt is in great condition. Neither fighter is made to go to a decision.
Look for this bout to end in the first or second round of action.
Jon Jones vs. Rampage Jackson
5 of 5In the main event of the evening, Jon Jones will defend his Light Heavyweight title against top contender Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
In the most anticipated bout of the evening, Jones will look to put an end to Jackson as soon as possible.
In an exciting five-round fight like this, there is no chance this bout will go to the judges' scorecards.
Rampage needs to prove he can defend against Jones' standup and protect himself from the unexpected spinning back fist.
Look for this bout to end anywhere from the second to fourth round of action.
