Can Donovan McNabb to Terrell Owens Ever Be a Possibility Again?

Mark TravisNov 24, 2008

Donovan McNabb has been the center of attention in the NFL for the last couple of weeks. His downfall started when he made his infamous comments on the NFL rules on overtime and tie games.

It continued Sunday when McNabb was benched for back-up Kevin Kolb after throwing two interceptions and fumbling once during the first half. Andy Reid did defend Donovan McNabb after the game and noted that the benching was meant to give him time to think. Even with that reassurance, it seems like Donovan's time in Philly could be coming to end.

Terrell Owens, on the other hand, is coming off an explosive week. He totaled 213 yards on seven receptions, scoring once. But, Owens has expressed his frustration with the Dallas system may times. Tony Romo is inferior to McNabb in all facets of the game.

Both players are nearing the end of their careers and both of them want to make a statement on their way out. If both players were willing to play together again, where would they meet up? Let's examine the possibilities, assuming they would want to be on a winning team:

Dallas Cowboys: Who would be better than Jerry Jones at bring these two back together. Of course, this would require the long-awaited dismissal of Tony Romo.

Jacksonville Jaguars: They have needed a playmaking wide receiver to go along with one of the best running games in the league. McNabb puts Garrard back on the bench, which is where he should be.

Houston Texans: Owens would have to take a backseat here, considering he'd be joining with best WR in the NFL. McNabb would be the best QB in the history of the team and could lead an already promising offense to the championship.

Although these situations are unlikely, they are possible and would benefit both athletes.
