College Football Rankings 2011 Week 3: BCS Contenders Still Have Much To Prove
The top of the AP Top 25 Poll in Week 4 is so stacked that it seems like each and everyone of the undefeated top nine have a solid chance to make it to the BCS National Championship Game.
LSU has played perhaps the most rigorous schedule of all the top undefeated teams. They are currently sitting at 3-0 after beating ranked Oregon at the start of the season and ranked Mississippi State on Thursday night.
They are ranked No. 2, currently sitting just behind Oklahoma, who took care of business against No. 5 Florida State on Saturday.
That huge win for Oklahoma gives them the inside track to the BCS National Championship, if they can go undefeated the rest of the way.
Now that is a big if, but they have an easier path than most to the big game.
They take on Texas October 8th, Texas A&M November 5th and finish against the high-powered Oklahoma State offense on December 3rd.
This is not by any means "easy" but the No. 2 and 3 ranked teams, LSU and Alabama, have to play each other on Nov. 5th.
This means that one of them will be sent spiraling out of the running to finish with the No. 1 or 2 ranking.
I think the team that has the best chance to come in and steal a spot in the championship game is Wisconsin. They play an easier Big 10 schedule compared to those brutal Big 12 and SEC itineraries.
They also only play four road games and are nearly unbeatable at Camp Randall Stadium.
The Badgers were rolling teams at the end of last season by insane amounts of points and are upgraded their QB position immensely.
I fully expect if Wisconsin wins out and one of the top teams plays some tighter games or loses, they slip into the BCS National Championship Game.
There is still a ton of games to be played and anything can happen, so stay tuned to Bleacher Report’s College Football Page for the latest BCS and AP Poll news
