Fantasy Football Rankings, Week 2: 3 Stars with the Most Favorable Matchups
Fantasy football is all about matchups, even when dealing with star players such as Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson.
For various reasons, some players just perform better against certain teams, whether it’s personal for them or they always dominate a certain 1-on-1 matchup.
However, most matchups are based on the defense of the team your star is opposing that week. Playing the matchup game in fantasy football is a great strategy, and helps maximize your team’s potential.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Let’s look at three star players with the most favorable matchups this week.
1) Calvin Johnson Against the Kansas City Chiefs Defense
Detroit Lions star wide receiver Calvin Johnson has a very favorable matchup with the struggling Kansas City Chiefs secondary, which allowed three 60-yard receiving performances in a 41-7 Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The Chiefs have no one big enough to contain Johnson in the air, and will find it difficult to stop him in the red zone.
The Chiefs allowed Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to post the best opening week quarterback rating, and against a better quarterback in Detroit Matthew Stafford, it could be a long day for the Chiefs cornerbacks.
2) Santana Moss Against the Arizona Cardinals Pass Defense
The Arizona Cardinals allowed the most passing yards to a rookie quarterback in his debut game ever in Week 1 to the Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton.
Against a better group of Washington Redskins receivers in Week 2, the Cardinals secondary could be in for another tough game in the air.
Redskins star receiver Santana Moss is very quick and runs tremendous routes, and could connect with quarterback Rex Grossman on many big plays.
Expect Moss to rack up at least 100 yards receiving, and will likely find the end zone once.
3) Peyton Hillis Against the Indianapolis Colts Run Defense
Peyton Hillis had a disappointing Week 1 fantasy performance in the Cleveland Browns’ loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, but has a very favorable matchup in Week 2 against the Colts run defense.
The Colts do not have the size or strength to contain Hillis, who will likely get many carries with the Browns passing attack still unproven.
Indy allowed 4.1 yards per carry last week against the Houston Texans, and gave up 106 yards to rookie running back Ben Tate.
Hillis will bounce back in a big way against the Colts in Week 2, expect a monster day from him on Sunday.
