College Football Predictions Week 3: 3 Top 25 Teams That Will Dominate on Road

Josh MartinJun 7, 2018

Week 3 of the 2011 college football season figures to wreak havoc on the rankings, with 12 of the Top 25 teams in the country set to play on the road this weekend.

Except, of course, for these three squads.

No. 6 Stanford

Andrew Luck and company will open their Pac-12 schedule with a visit to Tucson to take on Arizona. Stanford hasn't won at Arizona Stadium since 2007, though the Cardinal should find the confines a bit friendlier this time around.

Why is that? Well, the WIldcats defense didn't exactly put up much of a fight against Oklahoma State last week, giving up 37 points and nearly 600 yards of offense in a 23-point defeat. Stanford's offense may not be anywhere near as prolific as OK State's, but chances are, Luck will be able to carve up 'Zona's secondary at least as well, if not more so, than Brandon Weeden did.

No. 7 Wisconsin

I like Northern Illinois and their quarterback, Chandler Harnish, just not against Wisconsin.

The Huskies will have a slight home-field advantage, with the game set to kick off at Soldier Field in Chicago, though there will be plenty of Badgers faithful making the trip down from Madison.

And for good reason. They'll want to be on hand to watch Russell Wilson, Montee Ball and the rest of the 'Sconsin offense pile up points against an NIU crew that surrendered 45 to lowly Kansas last week.

No. 8 Oklahoma State

Speaking of explosive offenses ready to light up scoreboards this weekend, Oklahoma State's is as exciting as any group in the country. Their primo passing attack, led by the Heisman Trophy candidate duo of Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon, has found a worthy backfield companion in Joseph Randle, who's piled up 250 yards and four touchdowns on the ground thus far.

In Tulsa, the Cowboys will find themselves a team that's already suffered at the hands of a big-time school from the state of Oklahoma—the Golden Hurricane lost their opener against the top-ranked Sooners, 47-14. OU managed 663 yards in that game, giving the Pokes something to shoot for at Chapman Stadium on Saturday.
