Raiders-Broncos: Raiders Rout Denver on the Road, 31-10

(Gotta give props to Bob Carr with this pic)

Folks...what a game.
No one expected this to happen, outside of Oakland. Heck, even some in Oakland probably thought it wouldn't be this ugly.

But, that is why we play the game.

Denver came into this contest, winning it's last two games, having a 6-4 record, and first place in the AFC West. Oakland, meanwhile, had lost a number of contests, and close games to Miami and Carolina was giving the faithful hope.

"We're still here," the team seemed to be saying. "Don't give up on us."

Oakland started out the game, working the field, trying to get a running game going. Fargas, who finished with over 100 yards, was the primary back and was supplemented by Darren McFadden's headstrong rushing attack.

McFadden would finish with two touchdowns, and 38 yards.

A bit of the damage came also from a former Denver player, Ashley Lelie, who had 92 yards, and a touchdown of his own. It also showed the return of Oakland's offense. They had gone over 200 plays since the last offensive touchdown, and 16 quarters. When they finally broke through...nothing could stop them.

Denver, meanwhile, seemed to be cursed on this Sunday. One drive ended with Cutler dropping a hand-off that was picked up by Gibril Wilson. Another drive died when Cutler threw an interception to Thomas Howard. And the kicker, was the kicker. Prater, who did manage a 44 yarder, missed two early on.

By the second half, Denver tied the ballgame on their first possession at 10 all with a Peyton Hillis scramble for six yards on a fourth-and-inches play. Ironically, it was their last score.

Denver is now 0-3 in their last three games at home, has to wonder what hit them.
Oakland has to wonder "Is there still time?"
