Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2: Is Earnest Graham a Smart Addition?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount was a major fantasy disappointment in the team's 27-20 Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Tampa Bay almost completely abandoned Blount in the second half when they fell behind. Instead, they used veteran Earnest Graham, who is a much more of a weapon in the passing game.
On the day, Blount had five carries for 15 yards, while Graham carried the ball six times for 13 yards, and led the team with eight catches for 58 yards. While Graham was effective in Week 1, don't get too excited about his long-term prospects.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Bucs really believe in Blount as their starter, and plan on using him as such. Graham is, at best, a third-down back who can get you yards out of the backfield in those situations or when the team is behind. There is no way you should look at him as a potential starter now or in the future, even if one of your running backs is on a bye week.
Graham's best season came in 2007 when he rushed for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns on 222 carries. He also caught 49 balls for 324 yards. Those numbers have turned out to be an aberration, as he hasn't approached them since.
Though they turned away from Blount in Week 1, the Bucs were almost exclusively operating out of their two-minute offense. Blount still has to improve in pass protection and that's why Graham saw so much action.
Don't expect Blount to be excluded from the offense like that again this season.
