Manchester United News: United's Dominance Runs Deep
Perhaps the most disheartening thing for the rest of the Premier League this season is not just that Manchester United is the clear favorite, but that it has the depth to sustain a landslide of injuries and still come out on top.
This United team already could be a historic one, a team that has outscored its opponents in the first five games by a combined 19-4, including an 8-2 drubbing of rival Arsenal and 5-0 shutout of Bolton.
United seems to be living to the tune of, "Whatever you can do, we can do better," this season. After Manchester City executed an impressive 3-2 victory over Bolton, United came back and dominated them thoroughly. Even when United doesn't play City, they distance themselves from one of their top competitors of 2011.

Even in a draw on Wednesday against Benfica in the Champions League, United showed its ability to rise the occasion, veteran Ryan Giggs coming through with the equalizer 42 minutes into the match. The scary thing was that Giggs was largely ignored amid all of United's talent this offseason, and a 37-year-old still managed to come out of nowhere to help United.
That signifies what could make United one of those remorseless teams that comes around every once in a while that simply destroys its opponents. Beyond United's starters, their 16 to 20 positions are probably Jones, Smalling, Fabio, Welbeck and Park.
In that effect, United not only has the best starting lineup in the Premier League, they have the biggest game-changers off the bench, as well.
It simply seems unfair when a squad plays United splendidly, perhaps good enough to even win in Benfica's case, and sees someone like Giggs crush them so suddenly.
United has the perfect storm, in its starters and bench, and the rest of the league is simply trying to weather it out.
