Bengals vs. Broncos: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More

Wes ODonnellJun 7, 2018

The Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals are both trying to build on their Week 1 performances.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, they have do so after falling short once again against the Oakland Raiders. But the Bengals, they somehow found a way to beat the Cleveland Browns once Bruce Gradkowski took the field for an injured Andy Dalton.

Both are coming off divisional games and both need this game if they want to stake any claim to a possible postseason berth.

What's At Stake?

Playoff implications/draft implications. These two teams are as likely to be in the top five of the draft as they are to be in the postseason. Denver has a new coach and a number of talented pieces, but they are far from being ready to compete in the AFC West.

The Bengals are in a stacked division and are continually in a battle with Browns—who they just beat—for the No. 3 spot in the division. This year won't be much different, but they are off to a good start and can't take that for granted.

If they want to make a push for a postseason berth they'll have to do so with a win on the road in the thin air of Denver.

Bengals' Injury Report

Andy Dalton, QB: The rookie injured his wrist and did not throw at practice on Wednesday. He is listed as questionable and many don't expect him to play.

Andrew Whitworth, T: The veteran was seen in a protective boot and his status remains unknown.

Broncos' Injury Report

Elvis Dumervil, DE: Suffered a shoulder injury in Week 1 and was used in limited action. Listed as day-to-day and will likely play.

Champ Bailey, CB: Also listed as day-to-day (hamstring).

Knowshon Moreno, RB: Also listed as day-to-day (hamstring).

Brandon Lloyd, WR: Also listed as day-to-day (groin).

Fantasy: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em, Sleeper

Start 'Em: Cedric Benson, RB, Bengals

The Broncos gave up 190 yards on the ground to the Raiders in Week 1. Benson ran for 121 yards and one score against the Browns in Week 1. The Bengals' line can be questionable, but using Benson is the best chance they have at winning.

Sit 'Em: Knowshon Moreno, RB, Broncos

The third-year pro didn't look great against the Raiders—22 rushing yards, 35 receiving yards and one fumble lost—and the Bengals limited Peyton Hillis and the Browns to only 83 yards a week ago. Wait until he proves he's consistent before starting him again.

Sleeper: Jermaine Gresham, TE, Bengals

He caught six passes for 58 yards and a score last week against the Browns. The Bengals do not have a ton of trustworthy weapons on the outside and he could become one of the primary targets sooner than later.

What They're Saying

The Cincinnati Enquirer is saying:

"

Barring any unforeseen setback, Bengals rookie quarterback Andy Dalton appears to be on track to start Sunday's game at Denver...Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden indicated that the protection was wrong on the play where Dalton was hurt. Dalton, who was 10 of 15 for 91 yards and a touchdown, led the Bengals to scores on their first three drives, which marks the first time in franchise history that had happened in an opener. Even though the Bengals had to punt on their final three drives of the half, Gruden was happy with what Dalton accomplished.

"

The Denver Post is saying:

"

The Broncos are still feeling the pain of Monday's 23-20 loss to Oakland. When the team returned to practice Wednesday, it did so without four starters who suffered injuries in the loss. Cornerback Champ Bailey (hamstring), running back Knowshon Moreno (hamstring), defensive end Elvis Dumervil (shoulder) and wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (groin) all watched from the sidelines as their teammates began getting ready for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.

"

Bengals' Player to Watch: Andy Dalton, QB (or Bruce Gradkowski if Dalton injured)

If Dalton can successfully keep the Broncos' defense honest—and not allow them to stack the box and help their terrible run defense—it will go a long to helping this team win the game. If Cedric Benson gets started early it could be a long day for the Broncos.

Broncos' Player to Watch: Kyle Orton, QB

The starter is already under the gun from fans in Denver. He does have the support of the coaches, but it is never easy to deal with a hostile environment in your home stadium. If Orton doesn't clean up his play he'll hear it from the fans on a regular basis.

Key Matchup: Bengals offensive line vs. Broncos defensive line.

If the Bengals cannot get a ground game going and leave Andy Dalton exposed to too many passes, the Broncos may actually generate some pressure. It wasn't going to happen overnight, but eventually Dumervil and rookie Von Miller will start meeting at the quarterback. Cincinnati has to hope it is not their line that allows it.

Prediction: Broncos 21, Bengals 20
