Nov. 22, 2008
Do you have a bunch of red X’s on your roster as you try and make that push to the fantasy football playoffs? There are a significant number of fantasy football injuries of note this week, especially at the Running Back position.
Let’s have a look at who should be a go and who you need to keep an eye on…

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks: Hass is back in practice but faces a pretty tough Redskins squad this week. Man, those Seahawks have really fallen from fantasy relevance haven’t they?
JaMarcus Russell, Raiders: Russell is expected to start against the Broncos despite his knee. He is listed a probable and you will probably lose if you have to start him this week. If you are and somehow in your playoff hunt, kudos to you!
Running Back
Brian Westbrook, Eagles: Not looking good for Westy owners in the playoff hunt. Missing practice yesterday made for three Westy-less days at practice this week in a row. He is listed as questionable and at this moment you should be looking for another body for that starting spot.
Steven Jackson, Rams: Jackson is officially out for another week. There seems to be words going back and forth between Jackson and Coach for Now Haslett. Hopefully Jackson can get back for the fantasy football playoffs.
Brandon Jacobs, Giants: Jacobs is listed as probable and will likely be going so should be in your lineup against the Cardinals. He is quietly one fo the top RB’s this season.
Clinton Portis, Redskins: Portis is listed as questionable. If you own him you may notice he played last week when all signs were pointing the other way. Keep an eye on him to see which way Zorn leans.
Reggie Bush, Deuce McAllister, Saints: Bush is a game time decision while McAllister is probable. It appears that the safest bet this week (if there ever are any) would be with Pierre Thomas in New Orleans.
Steve Slaton, Texans: Slaton is being held back a bit in practices but should be all systems go against the Browns this weekend.
LenDale White, Titans: White should be in this week against the Jets despite his injured calf. Not the best start though, may want to look elsewhere if you can.
Caddy Williams, Bucs: Is there a reason for putting him here? Yes, because with Earnest Graham out people are wondering if Williams will be pushed back in. Even though they could not get a much better match up for him than against the Lions it doesn’t look like it will happen this week.
Kevin Smith, Rudi Johnson Lions: It appears that the guy the Lions have named as “their guy” is going to be able to go this weekend. He is another vitim of the nagging groin…sure does appear to be a lot of that this season. Johnson and his knee should be in behind Smith as well.
Peyton Hillis, Selvin Young, Broncos: Selvin Young was held back a bit in practice and is still not expected to go…not helping me at all this season. Hillis is listed as probable and should be in but not necessarily in your lineups. If you are desperate.
Darren McFadden, Raiders: McFad and his McToe should be able to go in and backup Justin Fargus this weekend.
Jerious Norwood, Falcons: Norwood should be in taking some touches away from Michael Turner this week.
Wide Receiver
Plaxico Burress, Giants: Apparently Burress is missing practice this week after hurting his hammy while sleeping. That’s right...sleeping. Brandon Marshall, I will see your injury from a McDonald’s bag and raise you an injury resulting from a nap. He is listed as questionable.
Roddy White, Falcons: Roddy’s back is still an issue and he is listed as questionable but he should be going in an important game against the Panthers. Keep an eye out on his status on Sunday morning.
Calvin Johnson, Lions: Calvin should be in without an issue this weekend against the Bucs. He has a sore quad but is practicing.
Marques Colston, Saints: Listed as probable again but should go on Monday Night Football.
Marty Booker, Bears: If you were hoping to pile your roster full of Chicago Bears WR’s this weekend you are going to have to do it without Marty Booker. His knee is not going to let him go.
Derrick Mason, Ravens: If you have to start Mason, watch the injury wire on Sunday because he is a game-time decision.
Tight End
Kellen Winslow, Browns: Winslow is listed as questionable but it appears that he is going to be able to go with his shoulder injury. He is a warrior after all. Keep an eye on him Sunday morning.
Tony Scheffler, Broncos: Schef should be a go for you against the Raiders. He is listed as probable and has been practicing as if he isn’t bothered by an injury down below.
