Tottenham Transfers: Will the Redknapp - Beckham Love Affair Ever End?
By now, I'm sure you've all heard: once again, Harry Redknapp has begun to fantasize about having David Beckham in his Tottenham squad.
No, fantasize isn't an overexaggeration. Here are Redknapp's exact words:
""If David wants to come to Tottenham, I'd welcome him with open arms. He's definitely still good enough to play in the Premier League. His game was never about pace so whether he's quick or not isn't an issue.
He is worth his weight in gold, he'd be an asset for any club. I'd have him here, that's for sure."

The translation for all that nonsense: "I'm obsessed with David Beckham. If he keeps playing until he's 50, he's still welcome in my team."
Now, just to be clear, I'm no David Beckham hater. My dad's always hated him for never really excelling at Real Madrid and for being a Manchester United youth product, but I've always admired his heart and dedication to the cause with England or with whatever club he's playing at. David Beckham is a model professional, no doubt about it.
But for Redknapp to restart this David Beckham saga once again and start dreaming all over again about having him play regularly for Tottenham at the age of 36 is just madness to me.
For one, we already have great free kick takers. Rafael Van der Vaart can easily bang in goals from free kicks, and when he's unavailable, Gareth Bale is a proven goalscorer from free kicks. The same players are capable crossers from corner kicks as well.
Secondly, we have plenty of wide midfielders. Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon are the current starters, but behind them we have Steven Pienaar and Niko Kranjcar (who can also play centrally). And even further out with have Giovanni dos Santos, who is in desperate need of games at Tottenham.
David Beckham can also play centrally, but he definitely is not needed there. Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone, Sandro, Luka Modric, Kranjcar and Jake Livermore already provide enough congestion to the two midfield positions in Tottenham's lineup as it is.
I definitely think that David Beckham can be an excellent role-model for the younger players to look up to and can serve as a leader for a team that looks in need of one to jump-start their push into the top four.
But David Beckham can provide that as a member of the coaching staff.
As a player Beckham will need playing time, and with the number of players at Tottenham already starved for much-needed playing time, his transfer just wouldn't make sense. David Beckham's transfer to me means taking time away from Niko Kranjcar and destroying dos Santos' chances of ever featuring semi-regularly for Tottenham again, both of which are situations that seem illogical to me.
What's your take? Should Tottenham completely steer clear of the ex-England captain? Or can David Beckham still provide Tottenham with a sharper, more competitive edge on the pitch if he is brought back to Tottenham?
And what do you do about Giovanni dos Santos' career (if David Beckham is signed), after having retained him in a summer where numerous suitors made their interest in the player known?
How can Redknapp possibly accommodate David Beckham, Giovanni dos Santos, Steven Pienaar and Niko Kranjcar, and keep them all happy by giving them a decent amount of playing time?
There are lots of questions that need to be answered by Harry Redknapp if he intends to follow through with his words come November, when David Beckham becomes a free agent. For now though, I want to hear your take on these questions. Make your opinion known below in the comments section, and I will get back to you with my own opinion and thoughts on the matter.
