NFL Predictions 2011: 5 Teams Not Ready to Start the Season

Jacqueline KirbyJun 1, 2018

With the 2011 Regular Season starting on Thursday when the Green Bay Packers take on the New Orleans Saints, we must check out which teams are just not ready for the season to start.

The Lockout played a huge part in bringing teams back a step, especially the younger teams and ones with new head coaches.

Buffalo Bills

1 of 5

The Buffalo Bills had the second-worst record in the NFL last season, and, while they will probably be better by the end of the year, the Bills are not prepared to face Matt Cassel and the Chiefs.

Their quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is okay, but the defense is just not sufficient to carry the team.

Dallas Cowboys

2 of 5

The Dallas Cowboys finally have Tony Romo back after his collarbone injury last season, but they are going to need a little extra work when they go head to head with Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets Sunday night.

The Cowboys' defense is still struggling, but Demarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff should make big improvements by the end of the season.

Indianapolis Colts

3 of 5

With Peyton Manning definitely out for the first game of the season, the Colts will have to work harder.  This will be Manning's first missed game since he was drafted in 1998.

Kerry Collins will be taking his place and the veteran has some big shoes to fill.

San Francisco 49ers

4 of 5

The 49ers probably had the worst luck with the lockout of any NFL team. Jim Harbaugh came in and has to teach Alex Smith another new offense.

Washington Redskins

5 of 5

The Redskins named Rex Grossman their starter for their game against the New York Giants.  This will make 20 different starting quarterbacks in 18 seasons for the Redskins.  Plus, they lost Carlos Rodger to free agency.
