Park Chu-Young: Video Slideshow Guide to Arsenal's New Striker
Park Chu-Young is Arsenal's newest forward, joining the club in the summer transfer window in order to add to the Gunners' attacking options.
However, skeptics are already criticizing "Chu," as he likes to be called, saying that he's decent but not an Arsenal-calibre player.
Not only is it too early to criticize, as we haven't even seen the former Monaco man play in red and white yet, but this criticism is a bit ignorant, as few have watched enough of Chu in order to judge the 26-year-old.
Here's a video slideshow guide to give you all the information you can get in anticipation for Park Chu-Young's Arsenal debut.
Enjoy, and remember not to jump to conclusions after watching the videos as we'll only know how Chu plays as a Gunner once we see him on the pitch for Arsenal.
Park Chu-Young's First Interview as an Arsenal Player
1 of 4Although every one of Arsenal's new signings always say they are "proud to be a Gunner," Park Chu-Young really does sound like he's proud to be at Arsenal and is sincerely grateful for his move to North London.
There are also special circumstances with Chu, as his South Korean nationality means he must go home to complete military service in two and a half years. This means that Chu will be ending his football career with the Gunners (as he stated in the interview).
Although this may seem sad, it means that he'll be giving 110 percent in every match and can instill a real never-say-die attitude in the squad while he's on the pitch.
After a few heart-breaking departures of players who were committed to the club for one reason or another, it's good to see we have a player on board who is a Gunner through and through.
Many of Park Chu-Young's Goals, Skills and Assists
2 of 4Although a nine-minute video may seem lengthy, I assure you every second will be completely worth it.
That's because Park Chu-Young is an incredibly exciting player to watch. Anyone who had doubts about the striker will be eating their words after watching that video, as it's clear that Chu is a very talented player.
The first thing to point out is that his finishing is amazingly decisive. When he's through on goal, he just picks his spot and sends the ball flying past the keeper without any hesitation. It's notable that a number of his goals are a result of fine playmaking, so you can only imagine what Chu will be capable of once he's surrounded by the likes of Arteta, Wilshere, Benayoun and Ramsey feeding him with crafty passes.
As well as this, it's also interesting to see how much of a playmaker Chu is himself. In the video we saw him place a number of clever passes—passes that seemed way too sharp for a central forward.
With these intelligent passes and brilliant goals, the thing that anyone could see about Chu is that he possesses an incredible amount of flair. With Ronaldo chops and back-heels passes, it's obvious that Chu is a very creative player, having the amount of flair one would expect from a Brazilian.
This video is sure to change the minds of skeptics, but in case you're still not convinced...
Park Chu-Young's Recent Hat Trick for South Korea Against Lebanon
3 of 4These are highlights from the most recent match that Chu played, a World Cup qualifier for South Korea against Lebanon. Chu scored a hat trick, netting the first, second and fourth goals for his country in South Korea's 6-0 victory.
And what a hat trick it was. The first goal was simply a clinical finish; Chu had absolutely no hesitation of where he was putting the ball in the net, making it look easy.
The second goal was a brilliant header, showing that Chu is certainly capable of scoring with his head when he wants to and can be a real aerial threat for Arsenal on set pieces and crosses.
Chu's third goal, my personal favourite, was a stunning shot where the South Korean skipper slotted the ball home, seemingly with ease. It brings up a point that I forgot to mention in the previous slide, which is that Chu has a strong, accurate shot.
This slide was for those who thought that Chu might not be able to find the same form this season from the 2010-11 season. This hat trick just proves that at 26 years old, Chu is nearing his peak and will be playing his best football with Arsenal, notching up goals as long as he can.
Conclusion, Highlight Reel of Park Chu-Young
4 of 4To wrap it all up, here's a highlight reel of some of Park Chu-Young's finest goals and skills.
This slideshow should have the doubters changing their minds, and the Arsenal fans mouth-watering for Chu's debut.
At the peak of his career, Chu will be in top form for Arsenal and could be a real success for the Gunners.
