NFL's Week 11 FARCE Power Ratings
An explanation of FARCE can be found here.
There was a problem with my spreadsheet that gave out wrong ratings. If you are reading this, you are looking at the updated and correct FARCE ratings.
A couple of things different about this week's ratings: each team's ratings were subtracted from 1,000 (the starting score), to make it more pleasing for the eyes; the "Weighted" column shows the teams rating, weighted more for recent games*; the "Standard" column shows the standard average of the team's week-by-week ratings.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
| Rank | Team | Weighted | Standard | Comment | |
| 1 | ![]() | Tennessee Titans | 39.3 | 32.9 | A tough matchup with the Jets looms before an easy three-game stretch against the Lions, Browns, and Texans. I see them losing only one game the rest of the way, either Week 16 against Pittsburgh or Week 17 at Indianapolis. |
| 2 | ![]() | New York Giants | 28.2 | 23.4 | Their schedule is brutal: At Arizona this week, followed by three division games, then at home against Carolina and on the road against the Vikes. Eli hasn't played like he did early in the year—can he step it up? |
| 3 | ![]() | Philadelphia Eagles | 23.7 | 21.2 | I knew there were ties in the NFL. The one and only problem with FARCE in my mind is that is absolutely loves the Eagles. Their next three games all come against top-six FARCE teams, then they have division games against the Cowboys and Redskins in the last two weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if they won just one game the rest of the year (at home against Cleveland in Week 15). |
| 4 | ![]() | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 22.1 | 17.6 | The loss of Earnest Graham hurts badly; he was averaging 80 total yards in his nine games prior to this past week. Warrick Dunn and a healthy (?) Cadillac Williams must form a power punch in order for the Bucs to stay in Wild Card contention. |
| 5 | ![]() | Arizona Cardinals | 19.6 | 17.4 | With a win this week they would clinch their division. And let me remind you, it's Week 12. Either the Cardinals are serious contenders, or their division is really weak. |
| 6 | ![]() | Carolina Panthers | 17.0 | 12.3 | They played very poorly against the Lions and Raiders, arguably the two worst teams in the NFL. They have three division games plus games against the Packers and Giants coming up. To prove they are playoff contenders they must win four or five games in their final six. |
| 7 | ![]() | Pittsburgh Steelers | 17.0 | 15.6 | Ben Roethlisberger definitely has not played up to expectations, but as long as their defense plays the way it has, the Steelers are a team that could surprise in the playoffs. Willie Parker is healthy and Mewelde Moore provides great safety off the bench. |
| 8 | ![]() | Baltimore Ravens | 13.6 | 11.2 | When your leading rusher is a quarterback not named Michael Vick and you're playing one of the best teams in the league, it's no wonder you lost. Baltimore must regain its form and stout defense after a very poor performance. |
| 9 | ![]() | Green Bay Packers | 13.0 | 8.8 | Since Week Five the Packers have outscored opponents by 68 points in their three wins and were outscored by only seven points in their three losses. I can see them sneaking into the playoffs. |
| 10 | ![]() | San Diego Chargers | 9.4 | 7.9 | Remember when they were Super Bowl favorites? Yeah, me neither. They get the Colts and Falcons in their next two weeks before three division matchups in their last four weeks, with the other game being against the Bucs. Hello, 6-10 record. |
| 11 | ![]() | Chicago Bears | 8.8 | 10.6 | After an ugly four-point win against the Lions, the Bears have lost two straight by a combined 41 points. Lucky for them, the Rams are up next. Let's see if they can get back on track to where they were before the bye. |
| 12 | ![]() | New England Patriots | 8.1 | 7.4 | A devastating loss in OT to the Jets hurts them. Their two upcoming games against the Dolphins and Steelers should determine how good they really are. They must win at least one of those games, or else it'll be tough to come back and get into the playoffs. |
| 13 | ![]() | New York Jets | 7.4 | 4.3 | Super Bowl contenders in the AFC? I doubt it. Changing of the guard in the AFC East? Uh, until Tom Brady comes back. I think this team is very overrated; they gave up 400 yards to Matt Cassel (!!) and barely won in OT due to their coin toss win. |
| 14 | ![]() | Dallas Cowboys | 6.9 | 10.5 | Their weighted FARCE is so low because it puts a higher weighting on their games with Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger than those early in the year with Tony Romo. Yes, they get the 49ers and Seahawks in the next two weeks, but they follow that up with a four-game stretch against foes all in the top-eight in the weighted FARCE rankings. |
| 15 | ![]() | New Orleans Saints | 3.6 | 3.4 | It's safe to say they won't make the playoffs. But will Drew Brees break the passing yards record of 5,084? He's on pace for more than 5,200 at the moment. |
| 16 | ![]() | Indianapolis Colts | 2.4 | -0.7 | Wait, why are the Colts 2.5-point underdogs against the Chargers? This team is scary now with Addai healthy and Peyton back to his old self. |
| 17 | ![]() | Atlanta Falcons | 2.0 | 0.9 | A tough loss to the Broncos is followed by another tough game against the Panthers. Matt Ryan is playing great; let's see if he can keep it up during the stretch run to take the Falcons into the playoffs. |
| 18 | ![]() | Buffalo Bills | 1.6 | 6.6 | After starting the season 4-0, the Bills are on a 1-5 stretch, including three straight losses to division opponents. They have three more division games to try and make up for that, but it won't help—they'll be out of the playoff race by then. |
| 19 | ![]() | Washington Redskins | -0.3 | 0.4 | Their last two losses lowered their Week Eight rating from 1009 to 986; they can thank their early season performance for their high averages. Jason Campbell needs to get his groove back and Clinton Portis has to get healthy for the 'Skins to even make the playoffs. |
| 20 | ![]() | Miami Dolphins | -0.8 | -2.4 | To them, style points don't matter; they've won by just an average of five points in their four-game winning streak. Their remaining six games are comprised of three division games and three for-sure wins (St. Louis, San Francisco, Kansas City). Playoffs? We'll see. |
| 21 | ![]() | Minnesota Vikings | -1.5 | -2.2 | Where's that defense everyone was talking about? They've allowed almost 30 points per game in their past four, even with Jared Allen on the line. With possible suspensions of him and Pat and Kevin Williams, things are looking bleak in Minnesota. |
| 22 | ![]() | Cleveland Browns | -5.2 | -9.4 | With Brady Quinn at the helm, they've scored 30 points per game, 12 more than their Derek Anderson-rate of 18 per game. |
| 23 | ![]() | Jacksonville Jaguars | -6.9 | -6.8 | Can it get any worse? Fred Taylor isn't producing, Matt Jones is about to be suspended ... the one silver lining is Maurice Jones-Drew. |
| 24 | ![]() | Denver Broncos | -13.8 | -6.9 | They've had two wins after a string on three straight losses. At 6-4, it looks like they'll win their division. In fact, it may only be with eight wins, as they face the Jets, Panthers, Bills, and Chargers, along with two matchups against the Raiders and Chiefs. |
| 25 | ![]() | Houston Texans | -14.4 | -14.5 | Four losses, followed by three wins, then three losses. This is one streaky team, stuck in a bad stretch. |
| 26 | ![]() | Seattle Seahawks | -19.1 | -17.5 | Matt Hasselbeck didn't leas them to a win, but a six-point loss to the Cards isn't so bad.They have a very tough remaining schedule, besides a Week 15 tilt against the Rams. |
| 27 | ![]() | San Francisco 49ers | -20.1 | -15.8 | They lost six in a row, then finally won one against the Rams. Frank Gore has had at least 100 total yards or a touchdown in every game this year except one, when he had 61 yards against the Giants. |
| 28 | ![]() | Oakland Raiders | -26.5 | -18.9 | They have nine offensive touchdowns this year, as many as Green Bay has defensive and special teams scores. (Stat courtesy of Tuesday Morning Quarterback) |
| 29 | ![]() | Kansas City Chiefs | -27.7 | -25.1 | They've only been outscored by four points per game in their last four games, since Tyler Thigpen became the QB. Really, they aren't terrible! |
| 30 | ![]() | St. Louis Rams | -30.1 | -28.6 | They've been outscored by 17 points per game on the year. Steven Jackson's coming back (if he ever does) won't help, either. |
| 31 | ![]() | Detroit Lions | -33.3 | -28.8 | The Lions, on the other hand, are. The rest of their games are all against teams .500 or better. |
| 32 | ![]() | Cincinnati Bengals | -35.5 | -27.8 | Currently sporting a 1-0-1 record in November, the Bengals now get the tough part: a four game stretch against the Steelers, Ravens, Colts, and Redskins. |
*The weightings are as follows: For every week past the midway point (Week Six at the moment; next week it would be Week Six and Seven, which would both be neutral), add 0.015 to 1/(Week number), and subtract .015 from that for every week prior to the midway point. For these weightings, Week Six would be equal to weighting 1/11, or the neutral weight for now.
So Week Seven has a (1/11 + 0.015) weight, Week Eight has a (1/11 + 0.015 + 0.015), etc; Week Five has a (1/11 - 0.015) weight, and so on. Add up the team's cumulative week-by-week ratings, and divide by that team's cumulative weightings (this changes for each team, depending on its bye week), and that's that team's weighted FARCE rating.
