WWE News: Using Process of Elimination To Determine Who Didn't Send Nash's Text

Alfred KonuwaJun 7, 2018

WWE's latest mystery revolves around a mysterious text message sent to Kevin Nash that proved to be the downfall of a brief WWE Championship reign for CM Punk.

WWE viewers are intrigued as to where WWE is going with "textgate" in terms of a payoff.  Will the culprit be predictable yet one who makes sense?  Will we see a shocking return?  Or will WWE just drop the storyline entirely thus relegating it to a cold case like they have done in the past.

With the names of several possible suspects being thrown out on WWE TV, it has suddenly become more obvious as to who didn't send the text than who did.

Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon has been heavily suspected of sending Nash a text to take out the winner of Punk-Cena II.

She was shown on camera multiple times during SummerSlam and on the subsequent RAW show.  This tells me that, in all likelihood, Steph is simply a red herring used by the WWE to divert fan attention away from the true suspect.

Stephanie McMahon, while her role as the suspect makes sense, is too predictable, and would be a payoff that would garner little subsequent interest given the erosion of the McMahon star power in terms of ratings.

Triple H

Triple H is the chief suspect in the test message mystery.  Kevin Nash himself said that Triple H sent him the text message while Triple H remains adamant that he did no such thing.

With CM Punk calling Triple H's bluff and now feuding with the former 13-time world champion, it would be kind of a cop out for WWE to eventually reveal that Triple H sent the text all along.

Vince McMahon

This is more of a hope than an elimination.  McMahon sending the text probably makes the most sense and would be a formidable way to get him back on television, but come on.

Vince McMahon has been at the helm of these types of payoffs before, and the act has grown more than stale.  The board of directors just relieved McMahon of his duties, and for WWE to shoot an angle where "the board changed their minds," it would not only patronize their fans, but it would make the BOD come off as ineptwhich is actually not too far from reality these days.

John Laurinaitis

Johnny Ace would be a bit more intriguing as a suspect than most other options, but that would mean he would get a more prominent talking role on RAW which would be entertainment poison.

This text message scandal has the raspy VP's fingerprints all over it, but it is just as likely that he is yet another distraction from the real culprit.

The RAW Anonymous GM

Here's a surprise option that may catch people off guard and could be a nice payoff if it is eventually revealed.

WWE continues to set up the Mystery guest GM podium despite the fact that the gimmick hasn't been used in several weeks, however it would be a very busy reveal.  WWE would first have to reveal that it was a  computer, and then they would have to reveal who was behind the computer.

It's also worth mentioning that the anonymous GM would have to be someone who makes sense in terms of his past actions but in all honesty, this is probably something WWE would have no problem ignoring.
