Arsenal FC: Power Ranking the Gunners' Deadline Day Signings
I litteraly came alive when Arsene Wenger made 5 signings in almost as many hours! Wenger seems to have finally come to his senses after the 8-2 defeat to Manchester United.
Arsenal have signed Yossi Benayoun on a loan deal from Chelsea, Mikel Arteta from Everton Football Club for £10 million, Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen for £6 million, Park Chu Young from Monaco for £2 million and Andre Santos from Fenerbhce for £6 million.
5: Andre Santos
1 of 5Andre Santos has 22 caps for Dunga's Brazil, and he played a key part in their 2009 Confederations Cup win.
He is a good attacking left back, as he is good at seeing a pass and a cross in the final third, but he is defensively suspect—to put it lightly.
He seems like an okay signing, but he has played in an inferior league, has had an unspectacular international career and is defensively very suspect.
4: Park Chu Young
2 of 5Park Chu Young is the captain of the South Korean national team.
He was easily the best player of a bad Monaco team, which got relegated last season.
He seems to be a great striker, who is a great finisher and a poacher, with all around skills similar to Thierry Henry.
3: Yossi Benayoun
3 of 5Benayoun is a skillful player with the ball who is a great attacking player.
He can play in attacking midfield and on the wing. He has been a great player of Chelsea's side, and signing makes sense for Arsenal.
2: Per Mertesacker
4 of 5Per Mertesacker is tall, strong and has good positional play. He looks to be what Arsenal have been crying out for, a tall, strong center back who can hold the line, while the more ball-playing of Arsenal center-backs, Vermaelen and Koscielny (as well as Djourou), go up and play the ball like a Libero.
1: Mikel Arteta
5 of 5Arteta may not have the quality of Cesc Fabregas, but he is, nevertheless, a very good player. He has been tried and tested in the Premier League with Everton.
He has good close control, has good passing sense and his free kick ability will be the x-factor for Arsenal.
