Chiefs vs Packers: 5 Turnovers Helps Packers Survive in Preseason Finale, 20-19
It’s hard to sit back and watch these Chiefs games and remind ourselves to not take things seriously due to the fact that these are just preseason games. However, when the Chiefs find different ways to lose these games, alarms go off and the concerns build.
The Chiefs kept some of their starters on the field throughout the game Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers, but were unsuccessful in coming away with a win.
One key setback for the Chiefs Thursday night was the turnover battle. The Chiefs dominated the Packers as a team in first downs, time of possession and total yards.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In the end, Kansas City struggled to capitalize and gave away the football to Green Bay five times.
After going 15-of-17 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown, Cassel came off of the field after suffering a minor injury in the second quarter. Tyler Palko stepped in for Cassel and had a hard time remaining consistent.
Palko threw two interceptions and had an issue on a handoff with Dexter McCluster, which resulted in a fumble recovered by the Packers.
Jamaal Charles also had issues of his own as he fumbled twice and lost them both to the Packers Thursday night.
The Chiefs walked into halftime with a 16-7 lead, but were outscored in the second half by the Packers 13-3.
The frustrating part about Thursday’s loss was that the Chiefs kept some of their starters on the field while the Packers had their backups, and possibly players who will no longer be on the team after this weekend after some of those players contributed in helping the Packers win.
Last week against the Rams, the Chiefs hurt themselves with penalties. This week, turnovers and dropped passes played a role in helping the Packers survive by one point.
It’s clear that Todd Haley wanted to give his starters more playing time Thursday night to give them confidence and momentum going into the regular season in nine days when the Chiefs open their season at home against the Buffalo Bills.
The question is, how confident is Haley with his football team? Although the Chiefs had an opportunity to win in their final two preseason games, they ended up hurting themselves and helped their opponents leave victorious.
Haley knows his football team has a lot of holes and must fill them in order to be prepared when the Bills come to Arrowhead Stadium. Going 0-4 in the preseason makes it hard on the coaches to trim the roster to 53.
When the Chiefs play the Bills, they must limit their mistakes and not allow Buffalo to win because of their errors.
The clock continues to tick as the season opens up in nine days for the Chiefs. The defending AFC West Champions want nothing more than to repeat and have another shot at winning a playoff game. It all begins against the Bills.
The new year is just upon us and the Chiefs must put this preseason to rest and move on to bigger and better things. The question is, will they be ready?
