Manchester United Transfer News: United's Inactivity at Deadline Telling
While Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger went from villain to hero at Emirates on deadline day, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson remained satisfied with already being labeled the most successful manager in Premier League history.

But Ferguson didn't do much on deadline day because, well, he knows he didn't really have to.
Sure, it would have been nice to land one of the best midfielders in soccer in Wesley Sneijder, but his acquisition would have simply made it unfair for the rest of the league.
We only have to look at the top of the Premier League standings now to know who is undoubtedly the favorite to win the league title this season. Wayne Rooney and Co. were fantastic against Arsenal, bombarding the Gunners with eight goals, including three scores from Rooney.
While Wenger and the rest of the league needed to make moves to stay competitive with United, Ferguson knew he had enough to win his fifth league title in the last six years.
United's game against Arsenal on Sunday could best be described as a party. By the time Rooney scored his third goal on a penalty kick, he almost seemed bored. And he didn't even yell any expletives into the camera.
It's not like United is a lock to win the Premier League—anything can happen in the world of soccer.
But we all know United is loaded and still the best club in the Premier League from the top on down. Not even the signings on Wednesday could convince us otherwise.
