Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
QUARTERBACKS
Tyler Thigpen (Kansas City Chiefs)
Coming in to the season, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Tyler Thigpen was the third quarterback on the team’s depth chart. When he finally began to get some playing time, he was horrible.
In the last four games, however, he’s been great. He's thrown for eight touchdowns and only one interception in that span. Look at the remaining schedule for Kansas City and you’ll see Thigpen will face weak defenses in Oakland, Denver, and San Diego, and inconsistent ones in Miami and Cincinnati.
Kerry Collins (Tennessee Titans)
Opposing teams still don’t think much of Tennessee Titans quarterback Kerry Collins, and they continue to load up the box to stop running backs LenDale White and Chris Johnson. And yet in the last two games, Collins won almost exclusively with his passing. Since he’s been a backup for so long, it’s easy to forget how good Collins once was. Don’t be fooled anymore, Collins is a sturdy backup in any league.
Matt Cassel (New England Patriots)
Tom Brady he is not, but New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel has emerged out of the backup shadow and established himself as a solid starting quarterback in the NFL. There are still some times when he makes your head ache, such as the time he overthrew a wide open Randy Moss, who was on his way to the end zone. Still, leading the Patriots on a game-tying touchdown drive in the final seconds of the game last week against the Jets was very impressive. Plus, the Patriots have remaining games against weak pass defenses in Seattle, Oakland and Arizona.
RUNNING BACKS
Peyton Hillis (Denver Broncos)
Denver Broncos running back Peyton Hillis was the third member of Arkansas’ backfield to be drafted in May. He was used as a fullback in college, but with injuries to Selvin Young, Ryan Torain and Michael Pittman, Hillis took over at running back for the Broncos and rushed 10 times for 44 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Falcons.
Hillis won’t gain a lot of yards or receive more than 25 carries any time soon, but he is hard to tackle and makes for a good goal line back. Remember, the Broncos have previously taken fullbacks and turned them into 1,000-yard rushers with Olandis Gary and Mike Anderson. Still, Hillis is probably better suited for teams in deeper leagues unless you’re desperate.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Donnie Avery (St. Louis Rams)
St. Louis Rams receiver Donnie Avery is playing like a typical rookie wideout. He’s been excellent at times and invisible at other times. But, what he brings to the table is undeniable. He’s got good hands and excellent speed, so the more he can continue to work on breaking coverage and reading defenses, the better he’ll get.
With Torry Holt struggling, Avery is the team’s only legitimate deep threat, so look for a few more good games from Avery. If you’re aiming for consistency, then perhaps you should look elsewhere.
TIGHT ENDS
Dustin Keller (New York Jets)
Starting rookie tight ends is almost as risky as starting rookie wide receivers, but Keller is the type of player that can finish the season strong. In a year when fantasy production from the tight end position has been limited, the addition of Keller could be a big one.
After catching just 13 passes in the team’s first eight games, Keller has caught 14 for 194 yards and one touchdown in the last two contests. Quarterback Brett Favre is quickly developing trust in the rookie, as evidenced by the game last week when Favre continually targeted Keller late in the game.
KICKERS
Matt Bryant (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
For how successful Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Matt Bryant has been this season, it’s amazing how he continues to fly under the fantasy radar. The Buccaneers don’t have a high-powered offense, but it is good enough to get in field goal range often and Bryant has a big leg.
Last week against Minnesota, Bryant nailed four of five FGs and converted his only extra point attempt. Those 13 points would be a welcome addition in any league.
