Fantasy Football Injuries of Note Week 11

Nov. 15, 2008

As the weeks get closer to the Fantasy Football Playoffs, we're starting to see some injuries that are going to take some owners out of the hunt.  But wait…there is more!  We are also seeing some players coming back from injury just in time!  Gotta love this game.  Here are this weeks Fantasy Football injuries of note…

Quarterback

Tony Romo, Cowboys: The return of Romo. Will this mean the return of the Cowboys too?

Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks: Hasselbeck will play this week against Arizona.  It has become must win time already for the Seahawks so expect them to come out with all guns blazing…as small as those guns may be these days, they will be out.

Carson Palmer, Bengals: Still no luck if you are a Carson Palmer owner.  Look at the bright side…they are thinking sometime in late November…we are in the second half of November and there are only two weeks left.  Does that help ease the pain?

Kyle Orton, Bears: It’s looking like Kyle Orton will be back this week against the Packers. Fun little trivia, this will be the Bears 35th QB change in their last 149 games. For you math wizards out there, that would be an average of a different QB every 4.25 games.

Running Back

Clinton Portis/Ladell Betts, Redskins: This one hurts, huh?  Portis will likely not play in Week 11.  Even if he is active you will likely only see him doing spot work.  Not worth it for the 'Skins to risk him for spot work. Ladell Betts will get the nod as his knee looks like it will let him play.

Steven Jackson, Rams: No question to it this week.  Jackson is not even going to be on the flight to this weeks game. Let’s hope he can get back for the fantasy playoffs!

Frank Gore, 49ers: Gore is listed as probable with a neck issue. Couple days ago Gore thought he had a condition but Coach Singletary confirmed that he is a football player and not a doctor. Coach also assures us that Gore will be playing…

"

“He’s going to play. I don’t want to go into any other scenarios because he’s going to play,” Singletary said.

"

Earnest Graham/Warrick Dunn, Bucs: Both of these guys are looking like they are going to play but if you had to choose one, Dunn appears to be in better shape as Graham is still being limited in practice. You can also expect to see more outside running rather than inside running against the Vikings.

Darren McFadden, Raiders: Looks like McFadden can play. Didn’t turn out to be the season you hoped if you drafted him, huh? Sucks to watch Matt Forte and Chris Johnson every week, doesn’t it?

Jamaal Charles, Chiefs: It appears that Charles is going to be ready to play after all this week. He is listed as probable with an ankle but it has been stated he will be ready for Sunday.

Cedric Benson, Bengals:  Probable and expected to play. Run out and get your Bengals running back now!

Selvin Young, Broncos: Still doubtful with that groin issue. Promising Dynasty/Keeper potential will have to wait until next year it appears.

Reggie Bush, Saints:  Bush doesn’t get the go this week but should return in Week 12.

Wide Receiver

Reggie Wayne/ Anthony Gonzalez, Colts: Both of these WR’s are expected to play on Sunday, although they are listed as questionable.

Marques Colston, Saints: It appears that Colston will get to lick his chops on the Chiefs D this week. This could mean a big game that would certainly do well for the owners that spent a high pick on him.

Derrick Mason, Ravens: Game time decision. Don’t you hate those? I’m guessing if you are bothered by having to wait on Mason you REALLY need him. I should not be so hard on him…Mason has done decent in PPR leagues this year.

Santana Moss, Redskins: Moss and his hammy should be set to go against the Cowboys.

Tight End

Jason Witten, Cowboys: Jason Witten looks like he and his ribs will be in lineups this weekend in time for the fantasy playoff push.

Tony Scheffler, Broncos: Scheff is probable and it’s looking like he is going to play.  He is practicing this week so if needed you should be starting him against the Falcons.
