Randy Couture Will Beat Brock Lesnar; We Should Already Know This!
Not one lick of research, not one moment of doubt: Randy Couture beats Brock Lesnar and sends him where he belongs.
He'll send Brock down in the rankings to learn and earn his way back to a title shot he may very well deserve when the time comes.
Seriously people. Do you really doubt that this will come to pass? Randy Couture, the man who has defeated Chuck Lidell, Tim Sylvia, and Tito Ortiz? Like it or not, that is a who's who of fighters who spent more than their share of time dominating the UFC. That's the short list by the way.
Randy Couture is an odds-makers nightmare. Go ahead lay it all on Brock, you might put some loan shark out of business.
If one thing has been proven over time it's this: Fights are exciting for a reason, odds help, but they do not dictate punches, damage, or the ability to avoid or absorb said punches and damage. Randy has made a living and a fine career of making it seem easy to calculate, all the while making it impossible to predict the outcome of a fight.
Good fights are like an extraordinary paintings. You start with a canvas, the octagon. You take your brush, the fighters. The brushes move across the canvas with poetry and motion, with rhythm. The result is your masterpiece.
Some painters are better than others. Think of Randy like Monet; think of Brock as a fourth grader with water paints. Get the picture?
Who has Brock beaten? Who could he not finish? How did he suffer his defeat? Ask yourself, if at any time had you pulled the old switch-a-roo and threw Randy in there instead of Brock, how would those fights have gone? That's right: 3-0.
There is a different picture being painted in this scenario. Not the random, sloppy, less than practiced picture you found when Brock faced these men. You would have seen yet three more masterpieces by Couture.
Look closely at what your being told, and think hard about what you know you have seen. Don't let the fairy tale deceive you. The UFC is putting a 4th grader in the octagon with a world renowned artist who's artwork will transcend time itself.
Who's painting are you going to bid on come auction night?
One might get a Couture masterpiece quite cheap, considering where most of the fans in the fight world are focusing their bidding.
Randy's painting will prove to be the more artistic of the two, it will hold value longer, and it will be timeless, for sure. Even if Brock's painting winds up being better, it is still just a water color, isn't it? Will it stand the test of time as so many of Randy Couture's paintings that line the walls of the UFC studios? Doubtful. Highly unlikely.
Let the bidding begin, as if it has not already.
Do you choose your winner based on size, speed, age, and power? Sounds like a safe bet, unless you know anything about the history of the UFC and some of its less than policed events in the past. David vs. Goliath anyone? How often did Goliath win, again rarely.
Do you choose your winner based on experience, quality of opponents, the ability to lose and return stronger, sheer craftiness, and absolute dominating fight preparation? Another safe bet, as long as you can overlook age and ring rust. Two very important factors.
We can not pick both, we have to choose a side and stick with it. This isn't the first time I've said I like Randy in this fight but I wanted to shout it out for all to hear. If I am right it will make victory twice as sweet come the following morning. I have said it and I stand by it.
Now we wait for the masterpiece to be unveiled. Should be interesting to watch.
