WWE: The Top 15 Tag-Teams Since 2000
Hello folks! Welcome to another slideshow.
This time I am looking at the best tag teams of the last decade.
Tag team wrestling is almost dead, and is not not helped by the break-up of every decent tag team that has come out of WWE.
Bear in mind that if you are part of a good team nowadays, you will break up! Anyway, I digress.
Please sit back, relax and enjoy the read, as I take you on a rollercoaster ride of the best tag teams of the last decade.
15. Kane and the Big Show
1 of 16Kane and the Big Show were an extremely successful tag team up until losing the belts a couple of months ago.
They were unstoppable and it was fun to see two big giants flattening anything that got in their way.
They actually made the tag team division interesting for a while, but seem to have split up without actually explicitly stating that fact.
14. The World’s Greatest Tag Team
2 of 16Winning the WWE Tag team Championship two times, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin originally joined the WWE under the name Team Angle.
Once they broke out on their own as a tag team, they were an immediate success.
They split in 2004 only to reform in 2006, and now they have both left WWE. They compete together in Ring of Honor.
13. Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel
3 of 16These two men made a brilliant tag team in my opinion.
Pretty much everything you’d want in a team.
They are similar in stature and style but split up this past week on SmackDown.
They have been a part of the Nexus and The Corre, and looked to be reviving the tag team division along with the Usos, but I guess that won’t be happening now.
They are three time WWE Tag Team Champions!
12. ShowMiz
4 of 16Just like JeriShow, Big Show was extremely successful in the tag team division with the Miz.
ShowMiz was much like JeriShow and almost as successful.
Miz was the US Champion at the same time as being the Unified Tag Team Champion, catapulting him to the top of the ladder—literally when he won Money in the Bank.
The tag team had split by then though.
11. The Usos
5 of 16The twin sons of Rikishi Phatu, the Usos are an extremely accomplished duo and very good at what they do.
They are one of the only tag teams in the WWE who haven’t split up yet, and many are looking at them to revive the dead tag team division.
They haven’t been with the WWE long and don’t have any gold to brag about, but I’m sure their time will come.
10. The Hart Dynasty
6 of 16The Hart Dynasty was yet another shining beacon of hope in an otherwise bleak and dreary tag team division, but they were split up in late 2010.
Consisting of the son of the British Bulldog and the last survivor of the legendary Hart dungeon Tyson Kidd, the Hart Dynasty were very successful, especially when it came to Tag Team gold.
Winning both the World Tag team Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship, they solidified their status as one of the better tag teams to come out of the modern era.
9. JeriShow
7 of 16This team would not have even happened if Edge hadn’t suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon.
Nevertheless, it did happen and Big Show and Jericho became one of the most dominant teams in the WWE.
Capturing the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, they held it for 140 days before losing it to D-Generation X.
With Big Show’s stature and Chris Jericho’s charisma and skill, they made a formidable tag team.
8. The Brothers of Destruction
8 of 16These two have a long history of being bitter enemies, but there was one time in their career where the Undertaker and Kane actually teamed up together as a legitimate tag team.
It was during the time of the Invasion, and they dominated the tag team division.
They won the WWF Tag Team Championship, and the WCW Tag Team Championship.
However, their feud with Kronik was just...awful, showing that it isn’t all sunshine and lollipops with this team.
They still deserve a place on the list though.
7. MNM
9 of 16When John Morrison went by the name of Johnny Nitro back in 2005, he formed a team with Joey Mercury and Melina known as MNM.
With Melina acting as their manager, they became an extremely good tag team—popular and effective, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship three times.
They won Best Tag Team of the Year in Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 2005.
6. Rated-RKO
10 of 16Rated-RKO were a tag team consisting of Edge and Randy Orton.
It had a cool name, a cool look, and featured two of the best superstars WWE had to offer.
Though the tag team only lasted a few short months, they did manage to catch the World Tag Team Championship, and had a great feud with DX.
They remain one of the most famous tag teams of this decade and are constantly mentioned on WWE programming to this day.
5. Miz 'n' Morrison
11 of 16The Miz and Morrison became allies when Miz was drafted to ECW from SmackDown in 2007.
They became popular mainly due to their web-show ‘The Dirt Sheet’, in which they cut promos on certain goings on in the WWE Universe, showing themselves to be adept speakers on the microphone.
The managed to win the World Tag Team Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship, but split up eventually, with The Miz going on to be the most must-see WWE Champion in history.
4. DX
12 of 16In 2006, the infamous duo of Shawn Michaels and Triple H reunited in a tag team known as D-Generation X.
This reunion was generally well received as it resulted in many funny moments from 2006-2010 and allowed many fans to relive the glory days of sexual innuendo and good old fashioned pranks.
It also showed everyone that although Shawn Michaels and Triple H were a lot older, they could still be considered cooler than a cat in a freezer.
They were in successful feuds with Rated-RKO and the McMahons and managed to capture the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship.
3. The Dudley Boyz
13 of 16Famous for the legendary table madness that always ensued following a Dudley match, the Dudley Boyz managed to become extremely successful in the WWE—helping to revolutionize tag team wrestling along with the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian.
Eight time World Tag Champions, the Dudley Boyz have earned third place on this list for making tag team wrestling as exciting as it can be.
2. The Hardy Boyz
14 of 16I couldn’t do a list about the best tag teams since 2000 and not include the Hardy Boyz.
They are synonymous with the TLC match and pushing the boundaries of tag team wrestling.
Jeff Hardy, the high-flying daredevil perfectly complimented his more grounded brother Matt perfectly.
They were a tag team made in heaven—a rarity to say the least.
Being six time World Tag Team Champions is no easy feat.
They don’t just hand you the belts you know.
1. Edge and Christian
15 of 16Arguably the greatest tag team of all time, Edge and Christian, helped to change the face of tag team wrestling by competing with the Hardys and the Dudleys in some hellacious matches.
Though they did not last long after 2000 (splitting up in 2001) the amount they achieved in that time in terms of success and Tag Team gold earns them the top spot on this list.
