Plaxico Burress: 5 Possible Landing Spots for the Wide Receiver
Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was released from a New York prison on Monday, and he is prepared to begin an NFL career once again.
The 33-year-old hasn’t played a game since November 2008, which was his last appearance for the Giants.
He will surely be one of the league’s most coveted wide receivers once the lockout is lifted.
St Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams are a young and upcoming team that could easily utilized the veteran wide receiver.
Second-year quarterback Sam Bradford is prepared to have a big season this year—using the two new wideouts the Rams have drafted for him.
But neither Greg Salas (University of Hawaii) nor Austin Pettis (Boise State University) is big enough or strong enough to stretch the field like Burress can.
He can immediately come in to give what was once known as “The Greatest Show on Turf” a spark to its offense and be a mentor to two young receivers who have a bright future.
Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins’ No. 1 threat is Brandon Marshall, who's had a rough off season.
Marshall was stabbed by his wife in April and is still recovering from injures.
If he is not ready to go, Plaxico Burress can easily step in and fill that role.
The two of them together will be a deadly combination.
Miami has one of the more dynamic offenses in the league, when healthy, and Burress can help the Dolphins continue to baffle defensive coordinators.
New York Jets

Rex Ryan hasn’t shied away from much during his time in The Big Apple.
He’s taken chances on trash-talking, guarantees and several big-name free agents.
Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes are both free agents and if the Jets cannot retain either of them, they may want to look towards Plaxico Burress.
Plus, I'm sure, Mark Sanchez wouldn't have an issue throwing the ball to such a big target.
Indianapolis Colts

Peyton Manning has asserted himself into the conversation of the league’s best quarterback since he was drafted out of the University of Tennessee in 1998.
He’s spent his whole career throwing touchdown passes to deep threats such as Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stokley.
Burress can be a great complement to Wayne and will help Manning add to his legacy.
New England Patriots
5 of 5
The New England Patriots will be the best offense in the NFL next season.
That being said, the Pats could still use Plaxico Burress.
The Tom Brady-led offense hasn’t had a big X receiver since trading away Randy Moss.
Though they have become very deadly using smaller players such as Deion Branch, Wes Welker and Julian Edelman, those guys don’t perform well against larger corners.
Burress may want to consider Bean Town when choosing where to play this season
