WWE: New Rivalries That Can Help Freshen Up Raw and SmackDown Brands
The WWE and its two brands, Raw and SmackDown, need some new heat in their roster. Too often, the same superstars are competing for the same titles.
Change is said to be a good thing. Writers and brand officials should look at new rivalries to spice things up and keep the fans entertained.
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Wade Barrett
1 of 10
Power vs. Power. Two fairly new superstars that can draw heat and get the crowd involved.
Jackson seems to be the up-and-coming star on SmackDown and Barrett uses his power within The Corre to make him a singles champion.
Pitting the two against each other was just brilliant.
Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler
2 of 10
If Monday night was any indication, this one has some chance of being great. Kingston is a high flying star and Ziggler likes the ground game.
Two styles should collide with the US Title on the line.
Evan Bourne vs. Daniel Bryan
3 of 10
Two faces who need a real pick-me-up. Bourne's risk taking and Bryan's tactical skill make this an interesting confrontation which will provide a win-win for the fans.
Drew McIntyre vs. Jack Swagger
4 of 10
Something tells me this could be great.
Swagger is powerful. McIntyre is dynamic. Both need to get back to contention for greatness.
This feud will be ego driven and will prove heel vs. heel matches are pretty good.
Mason Ryan vs. Sheamus
5 of 10
This one just works. Power versus Power and ego versus ego.
Sheamus is a tough bruiser and Ryan looks like he could beat people by looking at them.
There needs to be more true heavyweights battling each other.
CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio
6 of 10
Two heels who want championship gold.
Vince McMahon wants Del Rio to be his lead heel, but R-Truth and Punk are surpassing him.
What better way to see which one is hated more?
Rey Mysterio vs. Sinn Cara
7 of 10
Two fan favorites and two luchadores. This is one of the few matches that will never stay on the ground.
The fans would be split; the moves will be amazing.
The champion will have earned his victory.
The Miz vs. Alex Riley
8 of 10
This has the makings of the rivalry of the year.
Riley gets out of The Miz's shadow and shows he is not just a face or a jobber and can actually wrestle. The Miz has to get past Riley if he is to touch World Championship gold again.
John Cena vs. R-Truth
9 of 10
It needs to pick up steam from Monday night, but it is something worth waiting for.
R-Truth thinks everyone is against him and Cena thinks he and the WWE are against everyone else.
Whatever the consequences, this is what the fans want to see.
Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase
10 of 10
This will do two things for both superstars.
As former tag team champions, Rhodes has moved ahead of DiBiase in terms of talent. DiBiase needs a fire lit under him and Rhodes needs a really good run to have any chance at singles gold.
