UFC TUF Finale: The 5 Biggest Fights and Why We're Watching
After a somewhat disappointing main event at UFC 130, fans seem to be guaranteed fireworks at The Ultimate Fighter Season 13 Finale on June 4.
The event, which will be airing live on SpikeTV, will be headlined by the high-energy Clay "The Carpenter" Guida and former WEC champ Anthony "Showtime" Pettis in a bout of lightweight contenders.
Guida will be riding a three-fight win streak, the last of which was a submission victory over Takanori Gomi. Pettis comes in with a four-fight win streak after a unanimous decision win over Ben Henderson for the WEC lightweight title.
Adding to the mix are bouts with TUF alum Kyle Kingsbury, Ed Herman, George Roop and Tim Credeur.
Kyle Kingsbury vs. Fabio Maldonado
1 of 5
After a 21-second TKO victory over Ricardo Romero at UFC 126, TUF Season 8 alum Kyle Kingsbury will be riding high coming into his bout with Fabio Maldonado.
Maldonado, himself, is coming off a TKO victory of his own in the heavyweight division against James McSweeney.
Now moving down to light-heavyweight against Kingsbury, the two look to mix it up coming off their respective wins.
George Roop vs. Josh Grispi
2 of 5
After a loss to featherweight contender Mark Hominick, TUF Season 8 alum George Roop will be looking to bounce back against Josh Grispi.
Grispi, who was sidelined for six months after a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 125, will look to get back into the mix after his jaw injury.
Look for Roop to use his Muay Thai to pull off a similar result, as he did to Chan Sung Jung at WEC 51, while he could end the fight on the ground via submission.
Tim Credeur vs. Ed Herman
3 of 5
Coming off a Fight of the Night performance against Nate Quarry after missing over year due to injuries, Tim Credeur will return against wrestler Ed Herman.
Herman, who has a few submissions under his belt, will be facing a submission artist in Credeur.
Credeur, a BJJ blackbelt, will be looking to end the fight against an equally tough and well-rounded Ed Herman.
Jeremy Stephens vs. Danny Downes
4 of 5
After a nasty come-from-behind knockout of Marcus Davis, Jeremy Stephens will be looking for a repeat performance against Danny Downes.
Downes, who came in as a replacement for an injured Jonathan Brookins, defeated Zhang Tie Quan at WEC 53.
Coming out of Duke Roufus' camp, expect Downes to mix it up standing with Stephens, who proved against Davis that he has the power to end a fight, even in the last round.
Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis
5 of 5
Coming off a submission victory over Takanori Gomi at UFC 125, lightweight contender Clay Guida will meet former WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale main event.
"Showtime" will be making his UFC octagon debut against an equally entertaining and high-energy fighter in "The Carpenter."
Guida's high-octane wrestling will be on display against Pettis' high-flying acrobatics in what looks to be a highly entertaining bout for No. 1 contendership against the winner of Gray Maynard and Frankie Edgar's title fight.
