Adam Lind Placed on 15-Day DL and Eric Thames Called Up for Blue Jays
Adam Lind was evaluated after batting practice on Tuesday by the Blue Jays coaching staff and it was determined that he will go on the 15-day DL.
Gregor Chisolm from MLB.com reports that the DL stint is retroactive to May 8, which would enable him to return on May 23rd for the series against the Yankees.
Lind has been struggling to return from back soreness that has kept him out of action the last week.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Blue Jays first baseman was absolutely on fire at the plate before his injury, with his average up to .312 while leading the team with 27 RBI.
The move caused a chain reaction for the Blue Jays, as moving Lind to the DL opened up a spot on the 25-man roster.
Eric Thames, an outfielder in Triple-A, will back up the outfield and provide a left-handed bat for Jays manager John Farrell to work with. Thames has a .342/.419/.610 line in 167 plate appearances for Las Vegas, smacking six home runs and 17 doubles.
Thames was one of the prospects who impressed the Jays coaching staff in spring training and was said to be close to major league ready at that time.
Some fans might wonder why the popular Brett Lawrie wasn't called up this time. Richard Griffin of the Toronto Star reports that it was important to have that left-handed option for the lineup.
It is also likely that Thames will only be up with the club temporarily. When Lawrie gets called up, the Blue Jays would like to make it more of a permanent role.
The Jays also designated right-hander Robert Ray for assignment to create the necessary space on the 40-man roster for Thames.
