2011 NFL Mock Draft: Green Bay Packers 7-Round Projections

Adam SpencerJun 7, 2018

The Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers have the most envied pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

The No. 32 overall pick means the team was the best in the NFL last year.

Aaron Rodgers & Co. added onto the Packers NFL Championships total, of which they have more than any other team.

But the team still has some holes that need filled.

Offensively, the team could use some offensive line help, a backup running back and another wide receiver.

Defensively, they need a defensive end and another outside linebacker to complement Clay Matthews.

How will they address these needs through the draft?

Find out here.

1. Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin

Guys like Derek Sherrod and Anthony Castonzo are generating more and more hype as the draft nears.

That's just fine with Packer fans, because it means Carimi might fall to the Packers at No. 32.

A guy like Carimi would just be impossible to pass up and could be protecting Aaron Rodgers' blind side for years to come.

2. Mikel LeShoure, RB, Illinois

This isn't going to be a great draft if you're a running back not named Mark Ingram.

LeShoure might be the second or third running back taken, but he should still be on the board when the Packers pick at the end of the second round.

If he is, Ted Thompson shouldn't hesitate to make this pick and get a great backup for Ryan Grant and James Starks.

3. Titus Young, WR, Boise State

Young had 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns last season for Boise State.

With Donald Driver in the twilight of his career and James Jones's future with the team uncertain, it's time for the Pack to draft another wide receiver.

Young has also proven himself to be a more than capable kickoff returner.

That's a big hole on the Packers and one that they would love to fill with a third-round pick like Young.

4. Jeremy Beal, OLB/DE, Oklahoma

Alright, we've used the first three picks on offense/special teams players.

Let's get some defense in this draft.

The Packers need an outside linebacker to complement Clay Matthews.

Jeremy Beal might be just the guy for them.

He's been free-falling on almost every draft board because of his horrible offseason workouts.

But, the Packers should take a chance on him.

After all, it doesn't matter how you perform in workouts. The results on the field are what counts.

4. (Compensatory): Austin Pettis, WR, Boise State

Titus Young and Austin Pettis were a great tandem at Boise State.

Why can't they carry that momentum to the NFL?

Pettis ran the fastest 20-yard shuttle time in Combine history, so he's an explosive wide receiver.

Aaron Rodgers would love to throw to the Bronco duo.

5. Chris Culliver, CB, South Carolina

Culliver suffered a torn pectoral muscle that ended his senior season at South Carolina.

But, during his college career, he's shown he can be a serviceable corner in the NFL.

Oh, and he also returns kicks.

As I've mentioned before, that's something the Packers should be coveting this year.

6. David Arkin, OG, Missouri State

7 of 9

Here's a video of Arkin talking about his senior season, because I couldn't find a picture of him.

The Packers have focused on offensive tackle for the past couple drafts, so it's time to get some interior line help as well.

Arkin could prove to be a valuable backup in Green Bay's guard rotation.

His 6'5", 302-pound frame will be a force when it comes to opening holes for the running backs.

7. (From Panthers): Brandon Bair, DE, Oregon

Bair would be a good addition to the Packers' defensive line.

He's big enough to stop the run.

With the injury history of Ryan Pickett and Cullen Jenkins, more depth at defensive end might not be a bad idea.

7. Obi Ezeh, LB, Michigan

With their last pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Packers should look into Obi Ezeh, a versatile linebacker from Michigan.

With the injury history of Nick Barnett, it would be smart to stock up on inside linebackers in case injury strikes either Desmond Bishop or A.J. Hawk.

Ezeh could also hop out to outside linebacker if need be.
