NBA: Cavs Deny LeBron's Entourage Parking, Heat a Win

Mick AkersMar 30, 2011

With the hype not quite as big for the second coming of Cleveland's once-loved son, LeBron James, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert took it into his own hands to create some buzz.

As LeBron did often when he led the Cavs, he tried to gain underground parking for himself and his entourage.

Unlike those days when LeBron was loved by everyone in Cleveland, he was shown anything but love when the Cavs organization only allowed LeBron himself to park underground, sending his crew off to the general parking above ground and later tweeted after the Cavs won "Not in our garage."

LeBron responded by not coming out of the locker room until after the Cavs fans booed his name when called and snuck in while the arena was darkened for the Cavs team intro shortly after.

James didn't hold back on his old team, producing a triple-double that consisted of 27 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

James' output alone could not guide the Heat to another successful night in Cleveland post-LeBron. Cleveland, instead, had the last laugh of the season series by beating the Heat 102-90.

Cleveland, whose largest lead was 23 points, almost blew the game when Miami closed within two points late in the fourth quarter, the Cavs went on a 12-0 run which ended any doubt that the Cavs, for at least one night, felt like winners again.

Was this the Cavs biggest win ever? Sure, the Cavs have had some comeback victories and even made it to the NBA finals while LeBron led the Cavs.

Being at the bottom of the league this year and all of the emotions that have poured out of Cleveland since LeBron took his talents to South Beach, this win is absolutely the biggest win in the Cavs' history.

Despite their 15-58 record, gaining their first win against their new most-hated villain will be forever savored in the hearts of the Cavs fans, maybe as much, if ever, they win a NBA title somewhere down the line.

Yes, Cleveland, for this one magical night, the king has been dethroned.
