Brock Lesnar vs. The World: Predictions for 10 Different Fighters Against Brock

Rob KelleyJun 1, 2018

Brock Lesnar may be in the transition from going from student to teacher, with the news of his upcoming coaching stint on The Ultimate Fighter 13, but his days as a fighter inside the cage are hopefully not over quite yet.

Lesnar has already fought some of the biggest names that the UFC and MMA world have to offer, but what if we could schedule a match between Lesnar and anyone in the world? Who should he fight? How would the fight end?

Those are just some of the immediate questions that come to mind, and I would like to play the role of promoter for a moment.

The best part of this promoter's job is that I have no worries.

Contracts are not an issue. Revenue is not a concern. This is simply booking matches between Lesnar and 10 other opponents, and they will not even all be from UFC, making this the ultimate dream job.

I will leave out some dream matches. It is inevitable.

Choosing just 10 men (or women) is not an easy task. But here is a look at my top 10 lost of dream opponents for Lesnar, as well as my predictions for the outcomes.

10. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

Yes, there would be a bit of a size discrepancy. But how could you not want to see Lesnar fight a man whose fighting style is "Whoop that ass" according to Jackson himself?

The trash talking ahead of time would be outstanding.

If Lesnar went back to the man he was when he first broke into the business and started ranting and raving, and Jackson used his wit and humor, these two could sell this fight to anyone.

They both have tied to the WWE, where Lesnar is a former heavyweight champion, and Jackson was a guest host for Monday Night Raw.

If Dana White was concerned about a size difference, the two could opt out of their contracts, as I'm sure that Vince McMahon would book this for next year's Wrestlemania in a heartbeat!

In the end, I do see the size advantage being enough to propel Lesnar to victory, but Jackson would not go down without a fight.

9. Mirko Cro Cop

This has a Rocky type of feel, does it not?

I know that Cro Cop is Croatian, but he could just as easily play the evil Russian, with Lesnar assuming the role of the All-American.

Contrary to popular belief, Minnesota is still in America.

Cro Cop is just a tough nosed fighter. The problem in this match may be for whom would the crowd favor? As Lesnar could play the good guy, he may be an even better heel.

Again, the size difference would be too great for Cro Cop to overcome, and Lesnar would win this one by decision.

8. Dan Severn

Dan "The Beast" Severn may be too old to fight Lesnar now, but what would have happened if these two fed off when Severn was much younger?

Heck, even at 52-years-old he could still beat up most guys.

Severn was the first world class wrestler to dominate the UFC.

Taking his technique against the amateur mat style and physicality of Lesnar would create quite a dream match.

If Severn was at his best, I simply cannot see Lesnar beating him. The Beast would take out Lesnar by round two.

7. Muhammad Ali

Yes, I know that Ali was a boxer. He was the greatest of All-time.But I said this was a dream promotion, so anyone and everyone is within the realm of possibility.

How great would it be to see Ali face Lesnar? What would Ali say before the match? What would he say during the fight? He would have to have a microphone on him at all times.

I guess this one would boil down to what type of match these to agreed to fight.

In the boxing ring, in his prime, Ali would walk all over Ali. He had the power and the quickness to frustrate his opponents.

Lesnar would be so flustered that he would wind up beating himself. I could definitely see Ali running circles around Lesnar.

In the octagon, things would probably play out quite differently.

The boxing aspect would still favor Ali, but if he could get him down to the ground before getting knocked out, Lesnar would gain the upper hand.

I guess they would have to fight in each others world at least one time each, and see if they needed to settle the feud in a rubber match.

6. Roy Nelson

UNCASVILLE, CT - MAY 16: Roy Nelson (White Trunks) of the Lions Den celebrates after beating Brad Imes of the MilesTech Fighting System during their bout presented by the International Fighting League at the Mohegan Sun Arena May 16, 2008 in Uncasville,

Nelson would be one of the UFC fighters who could currently come close to matching Lesnar in weight.

There are not too many UFC fighters past or present who come as close to Lesnar's 265 lbs. as does Nelson.

Nelson is huge.

The scariest fact may be that he was a former substitute teacher.

Can you imagine being the kid who questioned Nelson because he did things differently than their regular teacher?

It may be the last time you ever raised your hand in class.

Nelson may be in the same weight range as Lesnar, but Brock would still have the height advantage.

That cannot be understated how important it could be in determining the result.

If the fight saw both men remain upright throughout, it would heavily favor Lesnar.

If they went to the ground for the majority of the contest, it would be anyone's call as to who would come out on top.

I'll stick with Lesnar, but he would have to be at his best.

5. Travis Browne vs. Cheick Kongo vs Brock Lesnar

6 of 10

You heard it here first. It would be the first triple threat match in the UFC.

How great would that be?

The WWE has been using it for years. The only twist here is that nobody can run and hide under the ring and wait for both opponents to weaken before they make their move.

That would be historic.

Browne and Kongo both have the size to match up well with Lesnar. They are close in height and weight, so I could not ultimately choose just one.

But nor did I want to use up two spots on each, so I created the first UFC triple threat match.

You all may be chuckling at me right now, but tell me you wouldn't want to watch this one take place.

In the end, this one would be tough to predict.

If I had to make a call, I really like what Browne has been able to do as of late. I'll take him to knock out Kongo right before Lesnar is ready to tap out.

4. The Cyborgs vs. Lesnar in a 2-on-1 Handicapped Match

7 of 10

Alright, so I ripped off professional wrestling for one more gimmick match.

But would this not dominate the headlines?

"The husband and wife team of Evangelista Santos and Cris Cyborg take on Brock Lesnar in the first ever couples' handicapped match."

Can you say ratings home run?

I know some people may say it wouldn't be fair to have a female fighter involved in a match against Lesnar.

Would you want to be the one who had to tell her she can't play? I certainly would not even dream of telling her that.

In the end, this one would go to the Cyborg-Santos team. But it would be interesting to witness.

3. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

8 of 10

When "Stone Cold" was nearing the end of his career with the WWE, Lesnar saw his career skyrocket.

Austin did referee a match between Lesnar and Goldberg, but the two didn't overlap enough to have them headline Wrestlemania or anything similar to that mega type of event.

Austin has returned to the WWE, but more in a training type of role in a wrestling reality show. Lesnar is still involved with UFC, but I would never rule out a return to the WWE.

If you think about it, both men are actually doing the same job and filling the same role for both of their respective companies right now.

Put them in the ring in the WWE or UFC and that may draw great ratings.

Of course, Austin would have to win.

2. Rashad Evans

This would be a great fight, and you can throw the height and weight difference right out the window for this dream bout.

Yes, Lesnar is taller and heavier. He is also probably a lot stronger. But you cannot convince me that he is tougher.

Evans is a true grappler. His takedown ability is incredible, and he could even bring Lesnar to the mat.

I also feel that Evans could get in Lesnar's head before the match enough to give him a huge psychological edge.

That cannot be overlooked. After all, Evans went to Michigan State to study psychology.

Lesnar went to Minnesota, and we all know that the Spartans best the Gophers in almost everything.

Evans would win this one as well.

1. Mike Tyson

The baddest man in the cage against the baddest man on the planet.

Could you imagine the possibilities? They would be endless.

Lesnar facing Tyson could draw a higher rating than any fight in any sport.

It could be the biggest UFC match. It could be the biggest boxing match.

This card would be able to survive on it's own without any other fights that night.

If you pitted Tyson in his prime, I have no doubt that he would beat Lesnar in any type of fight.

Lesnar could even choose the match and stipulations. But when Tyson was at his best, he was better than everyone.

He was that damn good.
