NBA Playoffs: Carmelo Anthony Trade Creates The Most Anticipated Playoffs Ever
Yes, everyone will focus on the future of the Knicks. Chris Paul or the newly acquired Net Deron Williams are almost certain to join Melo and Amare on Broadway in a couple of years.
But let's focus on now.
The Eastern Conference will be a mosh pit of excitement and is bound to produce a multitude of breathtaking series'.
With Carmelo Anthony heading to the Knicks, he could have certainly created the most enticing NBA playoffs in the history of the game.
Just think about this, in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, we are guaranteed to have a pairing of these match ups: Bulls/Heat/Celtics vs. Knicks and Magic vs. Hawks. Wow.
Then we head to the conference semi-finals that will include a Bulls/Heat/Celtics matchup paired with a Hawks/Magic/Knicks vs. Bulls/Celtics/Heat series. Let that sink in for a second. This is just the Eastern Conference!
Lebron/Bosh/Wade vs. Derrick Rose/Carlos Boozer/Joakim Noah vs. Ray Allen/Paul Pierce/Kevin Garnett/Rajon Rondo vs. Carmelo Anthony/Amare Stoudemire vs. Dwight Howard vs. Joe Johnson.
Miami, New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta. Every big-time market is represented outside of Los Angeles—on one side of the bracket!
It's scary isn't it?
What Melo has done ultimately is create an atmosphere in which a superstar is present on every team in every game of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Granted Amare Stoudemire is a stud, and Melo is all-world when it comes to scorers.
Shoot, even the paltry Indiana Pacers are sitting in the eight seed with Danny Granger in the barrel.
I'm an NBA fanatic, a fiend of sorts, and what just happened could have set the stage for the playoffs of all playoffs. A pinball machine of action and excitement that will undoubtedly have its oooo's and ahhh's.
The addition of Deron Williams to the Nets just makes the East the much more formidable in the years to come as well.
I think it's safe to say the East currently reigns king over the West. Oh wait, the Spurs and Lakers are still around?
