WWE: Front Office Needs a Reality Check on Who To Push As Stars

Daniel VollmerFeb 13, 2011

Over and over again, fans of the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) company have been disappointed.

They are masters of the hyped event, making it so that an event gets a lot of attention and marketing power.

They put the wrestling card on paper and position the feuds perfectly on the screen to get the fan's attention and build up the hatred between the two parties quite nicely to make you want to buy the pay-per-view on the upcoming Sunday.

Once you buy it, however, things start to deteriorate.

You turn on the event and you pay for it no matter what the price is, because you think it's worth it; then you see all the amazing action right in front of your eyes, but once it gets to the main event of the evening, you are left with a sour taste in your mouth.

What you had pictured in your mind to happen did not happen and the ending that came was left with a cliffhanger going on to the next night's events.

You paid all of that money, and for what? You paid to see an amazing match, only to have it end in disqualification or a count out and are left wondering what had happened.

That has been the happenings of the WWE lately.

Not only the bad pay per views, but it is who the McMahon family decides to push as a mega star that leaves people wondering, "what's going on?"

For some reason, Chairman Vince McMahon really enjoys the look of a bulky chiseled meat head. He likes the look of their muscles and how they carry themselves as an intimidating force, which is understandable, he wants to put the Heavyweight Championship on a person who is very scary looking.

There is only one problem with that marketing strategy, the fact that the guys he usually likes and wants to push look good, but have no ability in the ring whatsoever.

They are so bulked up that they are stiff most of the time and when they fall and take a bump in the ring, they fall before their opponent even touches them and they oversell the move way too much, falling so extremely hard that they end up injuring themselves.

This has been the case many a time and because of it, Vince McMahon has had to put the strap around the waist of the same people over and again because of the men he wanted to push end up getting injured too often.

The front office of the WWE needs a reality check and quickly. Everyone in the company that is a top guy is a multiple time world champion and it gets old.

The fans do not want to see big muscles and stiffness in the ring, they want to see high flying technical mayhem with a lot of holds and takedowns and cross body dives.

They want to see someone Ricky Steamboat-esque with all the tools necessary to be a top guy. Instead of the same people all the time, they should no matter how much money it takes, bring in some of the guys from TNA (Total Nonstop Action wrestling).

Their top guy is A.J. Styles and he has the reputation of being the best worker in the business, so if anyone had a mind in the WWE front office, they would bring in a guy of A.J.

Styles' caliber into their company and package him as the top babyface in the company and have him face a guy like Triple H to get him over right away. And if they don't do that, at least have him take on the new Nexus or Corre factions, the company definitely needs a big force to stop those groups.

Just a thought, but in several fans' opinions, and probably most of their opinions, they want to see better people step up and become stars and make names for themselves and not have them be big in stature and see the same thing all the time.

We as fans, are tired of seeing our favorites from other companies be the men at the top of their companies, only to come to the big time in the WWE and be put on the mid card and get destroyed in squash matches.

Come on Vince, what is wrong with you? Stop ruining careers and start packaging better talent.

If you do, you'll get more viewers and wrestling will never die. Guys like A.J. Styles, they might have been around for awhile, but they still have a few runs left in them, stop "Christian-ing" everyone and destroying them and start making stuff happen.

Show us you care!
