Super Bowl 2011 Seat Lawsuit: Exactly What's Wrong with America
To the 400 or so fans who weren't allowed to sit in their assigned seats during the game, please shut up already.
The world has already heard your story about how the big, bad NFL did you wrong. They were well compensated for the mix-up by the NFL. But apparently that's not enough.
There has now been a lawsuit filed against the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones. They are alleging breach of contract, fraud and deceptive sales practices.

Now if those 400 or so fans who didn't get a seat were simply refunded their money from the game, I would understand. But they were well taken care of after the confusion.
According to MercuryNews.com the 400 fans who didn't have seats "either were in the field-level club behind the Steelers bench or on standing-room platforms in each corner of Cowboys Stadium."
So not only were these fans refunded triple the face value of their tickets, but they also got to watch the game inside the stadium—at a better location!
But there's more.
They also received free food, drinks, merchandise and a chance to go on the field after the game. How many fans got to do that? And how many fans get spared the cost of $7 hot dogs and $9 beers?
But we still aren't done.
All 400 of them will also be guests of the NFL at next year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis, as they all received tickets for next year's game as well.
So to recap, instead of sitting in crappy metal folding chairs in the nose bleed section they were either behind the Steelers bench or standing in the four corners of the stadium, as they received free refreshments and merchandise, and they got to go on the field after the game, and they were given tickets to next year's Super Bowl.
Which sounds like the better deal to you?
The fans received a better experience for what they paid for, yet they are still complaining. All of this doesn't even take into account the fans participating in the lawsuit who simply "weren't aware they would be in temporary seats."
Give me a break. The NFL owes these fans nothing more than they have already given them. Hopefully this case never sees the light of day.
