5 Celebrities Who Taught MMA Fighters Their Secret Deadly Moves
*Note: This is a humorous slideshow, all information and quotes are completely made up.
After hearing that action movie star Steven Segal taught Anderson Silva the beautiful front kick that he used to knock out Vitor Belfort at UFC 126, I started to wonder what other MMA fighters had taken lessons from Hollywood's finest.
What I found was both shocking and slightly irritating.
Most of the biggest moments in MMA history have had some sort of connection to a celebrity, or even worse, a reality star. Some fighters have even taken advice to improve their personal lives from the terrible people that we laugh at on TMZ.
Phil Baroni stole his gimmick from Mike "The Situation".
Forrest Griffin stole his entire fighting style from Sylvester Stallone after watching 'Rocky' over one hundred times.
Brock Lesnar stole his tattoo from a former pro wrestler WITH THE SAME NAME!
As you can see this blatant thievery by mixed martial artists is becoming a problem.
Comedic actor Ben Stiller was recently asked about UFC fighter Kenny Florian getting plastic surgery to look like him. "I mean it's kind of creepy, I turned on the TV the other night and there I am getting punched in the face by Sean Sherk. People have started heckling me at movie premieres, saying things like 'You'll never win a title' and 'Did you kill the master in this one?' and I have no idea what they're talking about".
After over 48 hours of research, here are some iconic MMA moments, ruined by celebrities.
5. Rampage Jackson's Slam On Ricardo Arona
1 of 5One of the most iconic moments in Pride FC history is tainted by one of the most hated companies of all time: World Wrestling Entertainment.
Rampage was looking to add to his inventory of slams back in early 2004, so he went to some one he had been watching for years, WWE superstar The Undertaker.
After first attempting to to use the chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver, Rampage realized the damage he could do using the Dead Man's famous Last Ride Powerbomb.
That June, Ricardo Arona locked in a triangle choke and Rampage got to use his new move and ended up with one of the most devastating finishes in MMA history.
4. Shonie Carter's Spinning Backfist Knockout Of Matt Serra
2 of 5
One of the first 'Holy @#%&' knockouts in MMA history, Shonie Carter earned himself a legion of fans with his incredible knockout of Matt Serra at UFC 31.
Where he learned it will probably lose him all of those fans.
A life long Michael Jackson fan, Carter came running when the Kng of Pop offered him dance lessons and after mastering the moonwalk, Carter started to try to perfect Jackson's trademark spin.
However the fighter could not control his flailing limbs and his arms would extend like helicopter blades, injuring many back up dancers in the process.
With a few seconds left in the fight, Mr. International decided to show the world what he had learned and accidentally knocked out Serra in the process.
3. Anderson Silva Front Kick Knockout Of Vitor Belfort
3 of 5As mentioned, Steven Segal taught Silva this unbelievable kick. The MMA world will never be the same.
2. Toby Imada's Inverted Triangle Submission Win Over Jorge Masvidal
4 of 5Toby Imada was already known for having a great ground game before pulling off the best submission of 2009, and one of the greatest of all time. But where did he learn it?
This writer went deep into the Imada camp to find out.
Apparently Imada was taking a tour of Miramax studios when from the celing, an unlikely creature fell on his back, choking him out.
Yes, Suzanne, the monkey that was made famous by her role in the hit stoner comedy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
After seeing the punishment the monkey gave to Jason Biggs and James Van Der Beek, it shouldn't be a surprise that this primate has talent, but it is a bit shocking that is is responsible for one of the better finishes in MMA history.
1. Anthony Pettis' Showtime Kick Landed On Ben Henderson
5 of 5The most unbelievable strike in MMA history was sadly not an original move.
Pettis had the honor of brainstorming with movie star Keanu Reeves before his WEC title fight and Keanu let slip that he was going to use a 'kick off the wall' during his upcoming Matrix sequel.
Pettis decided that he would go behind the actor's back and steal the move from him, and although Reeves has tried to get his move back, citing copyright infringement, his claims have fallen on deaf ears.
If a reliable source hadn't confirmed it, I wouldn't have believed him either.
