NFL Rumors: Tennessee Titans Moves Could Create Domino Effect Throughout League

I love dominoes. Not the pizza place, but the game. It’s kind of exciting if you’re asking me. You hit one of them, and the rest sequentially fall! You can make cool designs with dominoes, long rows of them, or pretty much anything your heart desires.

That being said, the domino effect in the NFL is a bit different. One coach or player losing his job can set off a chain reaction for the rest of the league. Pieces start moving around, players start falling left and right.

It’s crazy man.

Jeff Fisher recently just departed from his job as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. On the same note Tennessee is looking to trade Fisher's old quarterback, Vince Young, so they can move on to a new future.

Let’s take a look at how these pieces moving around could effect the NFL.

 

Vince Young to Minnesota

Ok, so this scenario is completely reliant on the fact that Brett Favre will REALLY retire, which is somewhat of a 50/50 shot until he is firmly in an old folks home.

With Favre gone, that leaves the Vikings with Tarvaris Jackson and Joe Webb as their two potential quarterbacks.  Jackson has shown next to nothing in his time with the Vikings, so I don’t think they would mind parting ways with him.

Essentially Vince Young is just an upgraded version of Tarvaris, so if I were the Vikings I would do it in a heartbeat.

Jeff Fisher to Miami

Tony Sparano is somehow still the head coach down in Miami, but I can almost guarantee you that if Jeff Fisher came knocking on Bill Parcells door, he would hire him in a heartbeat.

Tony who?

Vince Young to Oakland

The JaMarcus Russell experiment really blew up in Oakland, and Al Davis is crazy enough to start the Vince Young era in the bay area.

If you take a look at this Oakland team though this move would make plenty of sense, and Oakland does need a quarterback in my opinion. The Raiders are a young and athletic team, and if Vince Young can come in and be a leader on the team like he was at Texas, I could see good things happening.

In return, Tennessee would receive one of the boils off of Al Davis’s head.

Jeff Fisher to His Couch

Personally this is the move I would make if I was Fisher, but let’s keep in mind that I am very lazy.

Fisher has been coaching for a very long time though, and perhaps he could benefit from some downtime.  Hit the golf course, spend some time with the family and wait around for a big-time position to open up so you can get paid man!

Vince Young to Detroit

Detroit is a city that is absolutely in love with backups. If you are the backup quarterback or backup goalie in Detroit you are pretty much a king.

Matthew Stafford still has not shown that he can stay healthy, and if that glass shoulder of his doesn’t toughen up soon the Lions might want to give Vince Young a shot to battle it out with Shaun Hill.

Fans in Detroit have begged and pleaded for the Lions to show some trust in hometown hero Drew Stanton, but I think the Leo’s are going to end up parting ways with the former Spartan. Stanton has shown some ability, and maybe the Titans would want to take a shot with him.

Personally I would love to put Young’s explosive ability with an offense centered on Calvin Johnson and Jahvid Best’s ability to make plays.

Here we have yet another coach that miraculously held on to his job after a disappointing season. Many people picked the Texans to finally turn the corner and make some splashes in the Playoff scene this year.

Instead they imploded on themselves. No biggy.

Fisher would bring the experience and leadership this young team could really use, and hey, Gary Kubiak has done a decent job at least.

I’m sure he wouldn’t mind being demoted to coordinator…and that’s the nicest possible scenario.

Vince Young to Cincinnati

Vince Young could be the savior Carson Palmer has been waiting for. Carson Palmer is a great quarterback who has been put into a very bad situation.

I don’t see any reason why the Titans wouldn’t love to have a quarterback of Palmer's caliber on their team, and Vince Young would fit in well with the rag tag team up in the “natty.”

Jeff Fisher to the Networks

We see it happen time and time again. It’s almost like the big networks just wait for players and coaches to either retire, wash-up or get fired, and then they scoop 'em up and put them in chairs.

Fisher would bring an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to either a play-by-play booth or an analyst’s desk, and sub-par coaches around the league could breathe easy for at least one more year.

Vince Young to Arizona

Derek Anderson does not find anything to be funny.

So, he probably would not be too happy with Vince Young knocking on the Cardinals door looking for his job.

That being said, this would actually make a ton of sense for the Cardinals considering that their quarterback woes have been piling up since Kurt Warner hung up the cleats.

Anderson on the other hand would be moving to Tennessee, which I hear is very beautiful.

Perhaps it would cheer him up a bit.

Jeff Fisher to San Diego

Once again I cannot tell you why Norv Turner still has a job in San Diego. His teams have constantly underachieved and choked in big spots, and you know what they say. A team is the reflection of their head coach.

Every scenario I have proposed so far has been teams straight dumping their coach once the attractive new girl, Jeff Fisher, approaches them.

Here’s what I have for the Chargers. Hire Fisher in your front office, and start putting some heat on Turner to step his game up. If he does, than hey you’ve got yourself a great thing and a great football mind in your organization.

If not, “Oh, hey Jeff! You did a little bit of coaching in your day right?”
