Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar and the Top 10 MMA Fighters We Want Knocked Out
The knockout. There's nothing like a good, old-fashioned total beat down in MMA and the UFC. But which MMA fighters would fans want to see get knocked out the most?
I'm sure everyone has their own list of cocky and disrespectful fighters that they would love to see get knocked out, and put in their place.
Some of these fighters are not only hated by many fans, but some of them have never even been KO'd in a fight before.
Nobody is safe on this list.
Here now are the Top 10 MMA fighters we would all like to see get KO'd in a big way.
10. Tim Sylvia (Super Heavyweight)
1 of 10
MMA record: 28-6
Well that was fast.
We sure got our KO wish now didn't we? It only took 0:32 seconds for Tim Sylvia to get KO'ed by Abe Wagner at the Titan Fighting Championship 16.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion was only knocked out just once before fighting Wagner, an area where he has KO'd 18 of his opponents during his MMA career.
"The Maine-iac" as he is known by, may have simply got a taste of his own medicine—a heavy dose for certain.
After a personal embarrassment like this, nobody is sure what Sylvia will do next.
9. B.J. Penn (Lightweight)
2 of 10
MMA record: 16-7-1
B.J. Penn has been known to run his mouth a little too much during his time as a fighter in MMA, making him a great candidate we would love to see get KO'd.
A former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion, one of Penn's most recent fights came against Frankie Edgar at UFC 118, where he lost another shot at the lightweight title by decision.
Of his seven career losses, five have come by way of decision. Penn won by KO in his last fight against Matt Hughes.
His next fight pins him against the 23-3 Jon Fitch at UFC 127 in late February, which could be a very tough task for Penn to handle.
8. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (Light Heavyweight)
3 of 10
MMA record: 31-8
The former UFC light heavyweight champ, Rampage Jackson has become an easy target by both MMA and UFC fans to date.
Giving up fighting and then coming back could make even the most loyal fighting fans disgusted toward the former Ultimate Fighter coach.
There was nothing "rampage" about one of his most recent fights at UFC 114 as well, as he not only lost against Rashad Evans by decision, but also the spot to be the No. 1 contender for the UFC light heavyweight championship.
Rampage will face Thiago Silva at UFC 130 this upcoming May.
7. Tito Ortiz (Light Heavyweight)
4 of 10
MMA record: 15-8-1
Tito Ortiz, 36, has still managed to hang around the ring given his long fighting career. The former UFC light heavyweight champion (a title that he held for over three years) has seemed to slow down his game recently.
It's been a while since Ortiz won a fight, losing his his last four of his last five matches all by decision. Not seeing Tito in the win column and without his big cocky smile has definitely been a treat for many.
Love him or hate him, we all must wonder if his time in the octagon will soon be over.
Ortiz will get one more chance to shine in UFC though, as he is scheduled to match Brazilian Antonio Rogerio Nogueira this upcoming March.
6. Josh Koscheck (Welterweight)
5 of 10
MMA record: 15-5
Josh Koscheck. I'm sure just hearing the name and seeing his curly blonde hair brings anger and disgust to many MMA and UFC fans alike.
Currently ranked No. 5 by Sherdog, Koshcheck was quickly quieted by current No. 1 welterweight Georges St. Pierre at UFC 124 in December, losing to the Canadian fighter by decision.
Even though he was KO'ed once in his career against Brazilian Welterweight Paulo Thiago, something tells me many fans would like to see the 5'10'' Koshcheck get knocked out once again.
5. Fedor Emelianenko (Heavyweight)
6 of 10
MMA record: 32-2 (1 NC)
The Russian. Who wouldn't want to see Fedor go down?
Currently ranked No. 4 by Sherdog, an argument could be made that while he does sport one of the best MMA career records, Fedor has ultimately never seen real competition since he's never played in UFC.
Maybe he doesn't want to join because he is afraid he will KO'ed—an area he hasn't technically had to deal with since his only TKO came a mere 11 years ago after he was cut during the match.
Even though he hasn't taken part in the Ultimate Fighting Challenge, Fedor has still put up a standout MMA career as the currently the World Alliance of MMA heavyweight champ—a title that he has defended twice.
The Strikeforce fighter will soon face Brazilian native Antonio Silva in February, hoping to end his one-game losing streak after losing by submission to Fabricio Werdum back in June.
Will Fedor finally be knocked out? I bet many fans hope so.
4. Rashad Evans (Light Heavyweight)
7 of 10
MMA record: 17-1
Currently ranked as the No. 2 light heavyweight fighter by Sherdog, Rashad Evans will take on Brazilian standout fighter Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 128 this March for the UFC light heavyweight championship.
This is coming after Evans defeated Rampage Jackson at UFC 114 by a unanimous decision back in May.
Evans has only lost once in his MMA career, losing his light heavyweight title to another notable Brazilian fighter Lyoto Machida, knocking out Evans in two rounds.
Given his short list of mistakes, Evans has been known to run his mouth a little too much in his MMA career, making him an easily hated fighter in the eyes of many UFC fans today.
3. Nate Diaz (Welterweight)
8 of 10
MMA record: 13-6
The younger of the cocky Diaz brothers, Nate Diaz has had a respectable UFC career thus far. At just 25years-old, he has lost only six of his 19 career fights (five losses coming by decision and only one by submission).
On top of all that, he has managed to knock out three of his opponents while never being KO'ed himself—making him definitely worthy of a spot on this KO list.
He lost his most recent fight on New Year's Day at UFC 125 against notable South Korean fighter Kim Dong-hyun, who is 14-0-2 in his MMA career.
Diaz will face Canadian fighter Rory MacDonald at UFC 129 this upcoming April where he will try to get back on track—maybe with a loss by KO in fact.
2. Brock Lesnar (Heavyweight)
9 of 10
MMA record: 5-2
Love him or hate him, Brock Lesnar has all qualities of a fighter that make him someone fans would definitely want to see get knocked out.
Although the former UFC heavyweight champ has only taken part in seven MMA matches, Lesnar has undoubtedly made a big name for himself in a small amount of time in UFC.
Maybe it was Lesnar's time as a professional wrestler in WWE that has made him predominantly disliked in the MMA world. He has been knocked out just one time in his MMA career, which happened when Lesnar lost his heavyweight title back in October—being TKO'd by current UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
Lesnar, currently ranked as the second best heavyweight figher by Sherdog, will fight Junior dos Santos in June at UFC 131 to determine the top contender for the UFC heavyweight championship.
The fight will happen after both dos Santos and Lesnar will coach against each other on The Ultimate Fighter 13 this upcoming March.
1. Anderson Silva (Middleweight)
10 of 10
MMA record: 27-4
I don't think there is any other fighter many MMA fans would rather see get KO'ed than Anderson "The Spider" Silva.
The current UFC middleweight champ also currently holds a 13-fight winning streak—the longest in UFC history.
As if not losing since the winter of 2006 wasn't enough, Silva also has never been knocked out in a match. Only two of his four losses have come by submission.
Silva's next fight will be his first at UFC 126, pinning him against Brazilian fighter Vitor Belfort on Feb. 5. The fight will take place in Las Vegas and has already quickly sold out. Will "The Spider" finally be taken down?
If any UFC fighter can end Silva's winning streak, it very well could be Belfort, as 13 of his 19 career MMA wins have come via the KO.
