Philadelphia Eagles' Asante Samuel Left Off All-Pro Teams, Tweets Frustration with Voting

Mark QueenJan 25, 2011

Samuel took to Twitter this morning to criticize the All-Pro voting done by the Associated Press' panel of 50 media members. He was not named to either the first or second team, finishing in fifth overall with 12 votes.

Here are the votes, with the top two making the first team and the second two making the second team.

Nnamdi Asomugha, Oakland, 20; Darrelle Revis, N.Y. Jets, 19; Devin McCourty, New England, 17; Charles Woodson, Green Bay, 14; Asante Samuel, Philadelphia, 12; Tramon Williams, Green Bay, 8; Brent Grimes, Atlanta 3; DeAngelo Hall, Washington, 2; Champ Bailey, Denver, 2; Joe Haden, Cleveland, 1; Brandon Flowers, Kansas City, 1; Antoine Winfield, Minnesota, 1.

Here is Samuel today in a series of messages:

"I didn't make first team All-Pro. WoW! Crazy...."

"I don't only stop my guy from catching the ball, I intercept it! Crazy..."

"Even when the ball is not being thrown my way, I still find a way to MAKE A PLAY."

A number of fans responded to Samuel, singing his praises.

Maybe, if you played more games this season Asante, instead of being satisfied with leading the NFL in interceptions during that time, you would have made the team buddy.

Frustration.

Nevertheless, you had a great season—one of the few players of the Eagles' defense that did.

If the Eagles organization does what it should this offseason and gives you some help at the other corner position (Nmandi Asomugha), you'll have more of an opportunity to play take away from opposing teams' offenses next season.
