Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Fight Watch: Mayweather Court Hearing Moved To March 10
The boxing fight everyone in the world wants to see between undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao remains uncertain as Mayweather's court hearing scheduled for January 24 has been moved to March 10.
Mayweather is facing misdemeanor and felony charges, including coercion, domestic battery, harassment and robbery for beating Josie Harris, his former girlfriend, in front of their two children during an argument in September.
Mayweather's attorney, Karen Winckler, asked for a continuance of the case and Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa reset the date for 9:30 a.m. March 10, lasvegassun.com reports.
After the brief court appearance, Mayweather quickly left with three men and a woman in his entourage. He waved off reporters' questions about the charges, then turned around to speak, the report added.
"Yeah, I want to say something. When I'm feeding the homeless come interview me," he said. "When I'm going for kids that are less fortunate, that's when I want you to come interview me."
Mayweather also is also scheduled to appear in another court hearing involving another misdemeanor battery complaint for allegedly poking a security guard in the face several times November 15 over a parking ticket. That trial will be at 9 a.m. February 3 before Justice of the Peace Janiece Marshall.
Mayweather is trying to sort out legal problems concerning multiple charges filed against him by several complainants in preparation for the possible resumption of talks on the much-awaited Pacquiao-Mayweather match.
It is interesting to note, however, that the postponement of the hearing was sought by the lawyers of Mayweather, which could be construed as a legal strategy to further delay the resolution of the case.
Meanwhile, in his latest statement regarding the resumption of talks on the Pacquiao-Mayweather match, the undefeated boxer said he is ready to face Pacquiao provided he takes the Olympic-style random drug test. Mayweather alleges Pacquiao is taking performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) to gain fight advantage over his opponents.
Pacquiao had denied the charges and said he is willing to take the tests based on fair and mutually- agreed terms and conditions.
Mayweather had previously demanded a mandatory random drug test from the Filipino boxing star as a pre-condition to face him in the ring.
