New York Jets vs. New England Patriots Isn't the Best Game This Weekend

The best game this weekend will be the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Notice, I said "best game." The most intriguing game this weekend will be the New York Jets vs. the New England Patriots.

The casual fan doesn’t know Ray Rice or James Harrison. I can bet your mom, who doesn’t even watch football, knows about Tom Brady, Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez.

Brady’s legend is known worldwide as the good looking, three-time Super Bowl winning QB with the super model wife. Rex Ryan is the “player/coach” you always see clapping on TV and has more confidence than Deion Sanders in his prime. Mark Sanchez is the Mexican-American quarterback of the team in the United States’ biggest city.

The game is also intriguing because you wonder if little brother can beat big brother. Let’s face it, the Patriots dominated the last decade and are off to a great start this decade as well. The Jets have just now come into the limelight.

Every team that has ever won it all has had to beat their big brother. The Indianapolis Colts had to beat the Patriots, the San Francisco 49ers had to beat the Dallas Cowboys and the Jacksonville Jaguars still have yet to beat the Colts. If the Jets want to be champions they must defeat the Patriots, plain and simple.

Another reason why this is the most intriguing game is the cities. Boston is widely argued as the best sports town in the country. New York City is known as the best city in the world. Boston takes a backseat to NYC when it comes to pretty girls and fun things to do, but for the last decade when it comes to football, NYC can’t hold a candle to Boston.

The Patriots do have one blemish in that past decade, which was a Super Bowl loss to another New York City team and they haven’t forgotten either. You think the Patriots are going to let their city down and be defeated by another NYC team in a big game? I don’t know, it’s just one of the many reasons why this is the most intriguing game of the weekend.
