Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri did, however, kick a lead-changing 50-yard field goal to give the Colts a 16-14 lead with 53 seconds left over the New York Jets.
But, the Jets weren't done.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan finally beat Peyton Manning, thanks to a late heroic drive led by quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Sanchez completed several key passes on the drive to give kicker Nick Folk to win the game; and he did.
Folk nailed a 32-yard field goal as time expired to seal the plane ticket to New England.
New England Patriots vs. New York Jets—the matchup everyone has always wanted. Rex Ryan vs. Bill Belichick, Tom Brady vs. the Jets defense, or just simply: Boston vs. New York.
The two divisional rivals will met next Sunday at the "Razor" Gillette Stadium.
This matchup isn't just any other playoff matchup.
It's personal. Time to start kissing Belichick's rings, Rex Ryan!
