NFL Rumors: Where Will Vince Young Play Next Season?
Owner Bud Adams and the Tennessee Titans have announced that Quarterback Vince Young will be either traded or cut before the start of next season.
However, Bud Adams has told Jeff Fisher that the decision to go in a new direction at quarterback is separate from the head coach situation, with the coaching staff still under evaluation.
In a statement release by Vince Young, he said, "I look forward to a new beginning, bringing my talents to a new team." Young also has felt that he never had the confidence of Jeff Fisher, which dramatically hurt his chances to succeed.
This decision is the best move for both sides. The Titans will now start fresh, likely drafting a young quarterback in the first round of the first round Draft. Meanwhile, Vince Young will get an opportunity to redeem himself somewhere, with many teams in desperate need of a starting QB.
The following slides exhibit the possible organizations that Vince Young could play for next season.
Cincinnati Bengals
1 of 10
Current list of Quarterbacks
Carson Palmer
Dan LeFevour
Jordan Palmer
After an extremely disappointing season for the Cincinnati Bengals, the organization has still decided to bring back Head Coach Marvin Lewis, which means that Carson Palmer will likely remain the starting quarterback.
With Dan LeFevour and Jordan Palmer as the back-ups, the Bengals have no real depth at quarterback.
Vince Young could go to the Bengals and back-up Palmer until he starts to mess up. If Palmer continues to play like he did this past season, Young would quickly have a chance to prove himself.
Minnesota Vikings
2 of 10
Current list of quarterbacks
Joe Webb
Tarvaris Jackson
Rhett Bomar
Now that Brett Favre has officially announced that this would be his last season, the Vikings have two quarterbacks that would be battling for the starting position in Joe Webb and Tarvaris Jackson.
Neither Webb or Jackson showed any real potential when they had the opportunity to take the field this season, so Vince Young could be brought to Minnesota during the offseason and have the chance to compete for the starting job.
By signing Young they would have a lot of depth at the quarterback position, and they could focus on other aspects of their team during this years draft.
Arizona Cardinals

Current List of Quarterbacks
Derek Anderson
John Skelton
Max Hall
At some point in the season each quarterback got their shot, and each one was fairly unproductive. If the Cardinals decide not to go after a QB in the draft, than Arizona will likely sign or trade for one that is on the market, such as Vince Young and Donovan McNabb.
San Francisco 49ers
4 of 10
Current List of Quarterbacks
Troy Smith
Alex Smith
David Carr
There were many questions surrounding Alex Smith midway through the 2010 season, but he finished off the year with a few impressive performances.
Will it be enough to keep him in San Francisco? Probably not.
With a bunch of quarterbacks available this offseason, and quite a few talented young QB's in the draft, the 49ers will most likely cut their ties with Alex Smith and bring in a new leader for this offense.
Vince Young and Troy Smith are similar quarterbacks and could bring healthy competition for each other.
Miami Dolphins
5 of 10
Current list of quarterbacks
Chad Henne
Chad Pennington
Tyler Thigpen
With Chad Pennington towards the end of his career, and both Chad Henne and Tyler Thigpen not performing as well as expected, Vince Young could be acquired by Miami to make the quarterback battle more competitive.
Many people don't realize this, but in the games that Vince Young played this season he was extremely effective. In nine games this year, Young led the Titans to a 5-3 record, completing 93 of 156 passing attempts for 1255 yards, a 59.6 CMP%, 10 touchdowns, three interceptions, and a 98.6 QB rating.
Carolina Panthers
6 of 10
Current list of Quarterbacks
Jimmy Clausen
Matt Moore
Tony Pike
Brian St. Pierre
Now that Andrew Luck will not be in the 2011 draft, the Panthers will likely decide to stick with Jimmy Clausen and draft at other positions.
Carolina could use Young as a safety net if for some reason Clausen doesn't pan out to be the expected franchise quarterback of the future.
Seattle Seahawks
7 of 10
Current list of quarterbacks
Charlie Whitehurst
Matt Hasselbeck
J.P. Losman
With an aging Matt Hasselbeck, Charlie Whitehurst may just be the quarterback of the future for the Seattle Seahawks.
Neither Hasselbeck or Whitehurst has been impressive this season so Seattle could be one of the organizations that Vince Young has a chance to start at right from the beginning.
Washington Redskins
8 of 10
Current list of quarterbacks
Rex Grossman
John Beck
Now that Donovan McNabb hasn't worked out in Washington, the Redskins will have to find a new franchise quarterback.
With Rex Grossman and John Beck as the only quarterbacks on their roster, Washington will have to pick one up in free agency or from the draft.
Vince Young could fit in Washington very nicely and would have no problem winning the starting job.
Oakland Raiders
9 of 10
Current list of quarterbacks
Jason Campbell
Bruce Gradkowski
Charlie Frye
Kyle Boller
Since the Raiders don't have a first round pick in this years draft, Oakland is the most likely to acquire a quarterback from free agency or a trade.
With Tom Cable recently being fired, Jason Campbell's future with the franchise will depend on the next head coach that is brought in to lead this team. With the second overall ranked rushing offense in the NFL, the Raiders would make a good fit for Vince Young, with the versatility that he brings to the table.
Where Will The Titans Go From Here?
10 of 10
The Tennessee Titans will most likely look to the 2011 NFL Draft to find their franchise quarterback of the future.
With the eighth overall pick in the draft, the Titans could select Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Cameron Newton, or Ryan Mallet depending on what the teams before them do.
Now that Andrew Luck has announced that he will stay in Stanford instead of declaring for the draft, everything will play out differently. Locker and Gabbert will probably be the first quarterbacks selected, so the Titans will likely choose either Cameron Newton or Ryan Mallet to be the future of their franchise.
