2011 NFL Playoffs: Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings

Ryan LesterJan 5, 2011

Before you start to break down the rankings for the playoffs, you need to decide who you think will be in the Super Bowl.

I’m predicting a Patriots-Saints Super Bowl. As I pave their path to the big game, I will need to know how many games I expect each playoff team to play in.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Saints (4)
  • Eagles (3)
  • Patriots (3)
  • Colts (2)
  • Ravens (2)
  • Steelers (2)
  • Bears (1)
  • Chiefs (1)
  • Falcons (1)
  • Jets (1)
  • Packers (1)
  • Seahawks (1)

Here are my top wide receivers based on my above playoff projections:

  1. DeSean Jackson:  Big-play man with three projected games.
  2. Deion Branch:  Knows how to step up on the big stage.
  3. Marques Coltson:  Health keeps him out of the top spot.
  4. Wes Welker:  Brady's safety net.
  5. Jeremy Maclin:  More consistent of the two big Eagle WRs.
  6. Mike Wallace:  Could go further than expected.
  7. Lance Moore:  Saints are banged-up, so Moore could see a lot of looks.
  8. Reggie Wayne:  Will draw Revis to start, which hurts his value.
  9. Anquan Boldin:  Will he finally be what the Ravens wanted him to be?
  10. Derrick Mason:  Will the old man keep it going?
  11. Hines Ward:  Experience should pay off.
  12. Pierre Garcon:  Capable of putting up nice numbers.
  13. Greg Jennings:  Could pull off the upset.
  14. Roddy White:  Could easily go further than projected.
  15. Robert Meachem:  Consistency an issue.
  16. Dwayne Bowe:  Likely one and done
  17. Blair White:  Could be forgotten by defenses. Manning would make them pay.
  18. Big Mike Williams:  Will get plenty of looks.
  19. Santonio Holmes:  Knows how to step up in the playoffs, but Sanchez is not Big Ben.
  20. Braylon Edwards:  Could be solid if he can hang onto the ball.
