Fantasy Football Week 16: Tim Tebow & Ten Sleepers to Help Bring Home The Title

Ethan NorofDec 24, 2010

QB

Tim Tebow, Broncos

It's pretty remarkable to fathom that Tebow has become fantasy football relevant, but that's exactly what has happened.

With an incredibly favorable matchup against a historically bad Houston secondary, Tebow could very well once again score 20 plus points for his owners given his ability to contribute on the ground as well.

Rex Grossman, Redskins

Grossman is usually the butt of everyone's jokes, but there's nothing funny about his performance last week.

With over 320 yards passing and four touchdowns, the much maligned QB makes for an intriguing play against another questionable secondary in Jacksonville. McNabb owners could do a lot worse, and even some with struggling quarterbacks on the roster may want to take a long look.

David Garrard, Jaguars

Coming off of back-to-back solid performances against Oakland and Indianapolis, there's little reason to think his success won't continue against the 30th-ranked Washington pass defense.

With his team firmly in the thick of it for a coveted playoff spot, Garrard will be looking to be as prolific as possible, ensuring fantasy owners that another promising day is just around the corner.

RB

Danny Woodhead, Patriots

The Bills give up a ton of yardage on the ground, and there's no reason to think that BenJarvus Green-Ellis will be the only beneficiary.

Also used as a receiving threat on passing downs, there should be plenty of room to scamper around the grid iron all afternoon for Woodhead. Don't be surprised if he goes over 100 total yards.

Brandon Jacobs, Giants

After consecutive 100 plus yard rushing games heading into his last matchup, Jacobs laid an absolute dud against Philadelphia last week.

However, the Giants will be looking to the ground game more as they try to avoid the three and outs that plagued them last week, so look for Jacobs to get plenty of opportunities against Green Bay.

WR

Ah, how the dreaded fumble can mask an otherwise incredible day. Manningham exploded for 113 yards and two touchdowns, and with Steve Smith sidelined he's going to get all that he can handle.

With his team desperate for a win this week, Manningham should see plenty of targets as QB Eli Manning will look to prove to everybody that his team should be taken very seriously.

Anthony Armstrong, Redskins

Armstrong has proven that he's much more than just a situational deep threat.

With opposing defenses begin to key in on WR Santana Moss and even TE Chris Cooley to a greater extent, Armstrong should find plenty of room to roam the less than impressive Jags' secondary that has been victimized all season long.

Danny Amendola, Rams

Amendola has emerged as QB Sam Bradford's top target as the regular season draws to a close.

With the Rams fighting for their playoff life in a crucial matchup against the 49ers this weekend, look for the franchise quarterback to display the poise that made him the no. one overall pick.

What does that mean for Amendola? Lots of looks, a copious amount of yards, and possibly even a couple of trips to the end zone.

TE

Jimmy Graham, Saints

With Graham's surge of late, he's playing his way onto 2011 rosters as a very popular fantasy football sleeper

After suggesting him as a possible injury replacement earlier this season, Graham really disappointed. However, he's now firmly entrenched on the fantasy radar and could very well find himself targeted on quite a few passes inside the red zone.

Dustin Keller, Jets

After a very promising start to the season, Keller has been beyond a disappointment.

But that's about to change. With the Jets facing a very tough opponent in the Chicago Bears and QB Mark Sanchez dealing with a bad shoulder, there should be several opportunities for Keller to catch short passes over the middle all day.

The Bears have given up an NFL-leading 81 receptions to opposing tight ends, so the chance of Keller breaking one for a big gain is quite good.
